Really impressed with Liverpool so far, their manager and their signings. Not convinced that the Allen fee is worthy but clever move if true by Swansea to use Liverpool's signings of the last 18 months in negotiations to get a bigger fee.

Forest confirmed Guedioura this afternoon, buzzing! :D

Same. I watched the pre-season match against Toronto the other night. By no means perfect, but I think the 4-3-3 will suit our game. I'm impressed by our targets too, although I believe Dempsey to be a real marketing trick for the US. Going for the second/third bracket of top younger players. As for Allen, I think will we get him for £10m, probably including add-ons aswell. The broadsheet journalists who cover Liverpool have said we're playing hardball with negotiations now, as teams know how much we spent previously so they try and hold out. There's less pressure of Rodgers this season so their not too bothered if signings drag out towards the end of the window.

Manchester United have made their interest in Lucas Moura public aswell. I'm utterly convinced their interest in Van Persie is a PR move against Manchester City now.

New York Red Bulls are closing in on a £1million pound deal for Everton ace Tim Cahill according to the BBC.

Quite surprised by that tbh!

He's been shit for two years now, and he only ever seems to play well against Liverpool. Still find it funny how he came to Everton to win things, yet got to as many FA Cup finals with Milwall as he did Everton :D

I think it could be a great deal for both parties, although both are taking a huge risk. Carroll to flourish needs the team built around him, and that won't happen at Liverpool. At the moment the owners are shifting out all of the bigger earners who are bit-part players in an effort to reduce our horribly inflated wage bill. £19m for a man that has been largely poor all season is brilliant. It's a loss, but that was all he is worth to begin with. West Ham obviously banking on getting the Olympic Stadium as it's a lot of money to agree to shell out if they stay in the Premier League. There's steady rumours Liverpool are getting Higauin on loan from Real Madrid - which would be a genius move from the everyone at the club as the Carroll deal is not money in the bag until next summer!

Really surprised that Carroll would even join West Ham TBH, he could do so much better!

Sunderland have also Bid 10min For Steven Fletcher, WTF.

Not seen the Higauin on loon rumour that Rooney has posted, as I haven't really been following much of the transfers with the Olympics, but if that's true - that is a VERY good swoop for us.

Word is that Carroll has rejected the move. I think he only wants a return to Newcastle, and well Liverpool would be bloody stupid to sell him there at this moment in time.

Selling him to Newcastle would be ridiculous and embarrassing

Buy him for 35 million and then sell him back for 20 million whilst strengthening our rivals. I'd also hate to see Alan Pardew's smug face

Aquilani seems to be on his way out and a deal for Allen looks close. I've seen opposition fans laugh about rumoured fees for Allen "Haha Liverpool paying huge fees. They'll never learn"

Except Rodgers has a system and is buying players to fit that in comparison to Kenny, who bought a bunch of players with very little thought as to how they'd play. Allen is being bought for 10-15 million because Rodgers feels he's the best player available to allow us to play posession football, whereas Downing was bought for 20 million because Kenny was obsessed with buying British players. Very different regimes and this isn't a case of us splashing out ridiculous amounts of money with little thought

Downing is AWFUL.

Tbh, never really said this but I'm surprised Everton sold Cahill for only 1million, they really, really need a new striker. They've just completed the signing of Steven Piennar for 4.5m!

Tim Cahill is worth nothing more than that. A £1m fee for someone well into his 30s, whose last two seasons have been nowhere near what they once were, in terms of either reliability (injuries) or form, and who will be paid around £3m a year. That's good business. Peinaar and Naismith good signings for them.

I agree Peinaar and Naismath are great singings, but they still need to expand there squad tbh, they're really lacking a quality striker.

Well they have Jelavic who's the best and most consistent striker they've had for years.

How stupid of me to forget Jelavic! Yeah he was actually a really good signing! Where's Louis Saha these days?

Arsenal closing on loan deals for Santi Cazorla from Malaga and Nuri Sahan from Real Madrid.

I'm going to see my local team Dundee United tonight vs Dinamo Moscow in the Europa league, gutted we never got Liverpool.

The new season's edging closer and we've still only brought in Cuellar. Not worrying yet, but it is a slight concern.

To add to it all, we've had an awful pre-season which has only gone on to highlight just how desperately we need to bring in strikers.

does any forest fans have an opinion on paul anderson. he signed for bristol city about a week ago and i wondered whether hes any good?
