The Take That singer is wanted to join his bandmate Gary Barlow and fellow panellists Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh on the ITV1 show as a temporary replacement for axed judge Kelly Rowland ahead of the first auditions in Liverpool on Wednesday (23.05.12). A show insider said: "There is always a buzz in the air when Robbie and Gary get together. This could save us. "Obviously we love Gary, Tulisa and Louis but we wanted to kick off next week with a bang and get everyone talking." The move comes after Dannii Minogue snubbed a £1 million offer to return to the panel, and producers are now hoping Robbie will be able to bring some "excitement" to the programme to give show boss Simon Cowell a bit more time to recruit a permanent panellist. The insider added to the Daily Star newspaper: "Having Dannii back would have been huge. "But that's fallen through so hopefully Robbie will join us and create the excitement we need to launch the series." Meanwhile, music legend Rod Stewart, 67, has also been tipped to join the panel as a guest judge for two shows, starting in London next month. A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Rod is a genuine living legend and exactly what the show needs. "The details are still to be ironed out but it looks like he'll be at the auditions next month in London and possibly Glasgow because of his Scottish heritage. "He's sold more than 100 million records worldwide so he knows exactly what it takes to succeed in the tough world of showbusiness, and hopefully he'll also be a big draw for viewers who might not have been fans of 'The X Factor' before. "It's a big coup to get him involved and Simon Cowell is absolutely thrilled."

Robbie WIlliams It seems that Gary Barlow could be buddy up to his mate Robbie Williams on the X Factor panel if the latest rumours are to be believed. While the final spot on this year’s judging panel in the UK version of the show is still up for grabs, Take That star Robbie is one of the names who had been signed to appear as a guest judge during the audition process. Robbie is said to be joining Gary, Tulisa and Louis on the panel for the London auditions of the show, while Geri Halliwell is expected to step in for those in Liverpool. Other names in the list for guest spots are Gwen Stefani, Tinie Tempah and Alicia Keys, making it a very diverse bag for the opening rounds of the show. Dannii Minogue had been expected to return to her judging role on the show this year, but talks have apparently ender with her deciding not to rejoin the panel leaving the permanent role still open Musicrooms.net

It was previously rumoured that the Take That singer would be joining pal Gary Barlow on the panel as a guest judge, but he insisted today: “I’m not doing it.” Robbie, who will be appearing in Soccer Aid on ITV1 tonight, said: “I’m not bothered who they get. “I don’t know who Gary would want, you will have to ask him. “I’m not helping him at Judges’ Houses this time.” Gary meanwhile added: “[Robbie]’s the biggest fan of this show, so I could definitely see him turning up for an hour maybe. “He’s only flown in for Soccer Aid so I’m not sure if he’ll have time. “It’s so last minute all this, that’s the problem.” Auditions in London continue tomorrow at the O2 Area. Mr Said, who sold a collection of the Duchess of Windsor’s jewels for almost £8million in 2010, spared no expense for Cheltenham Ladies’ College-educated Miss Said and her new husband, a trainee at Lord Bell’s PR conglomerate, Chime Communications. Despite this, guests were instructed on wedding invitations: ‘Your presence is enough but if you want to buy us a gift we are registered at Harrods.’ The Said family are based in Monaco for tax reasons, but also divide their time between homes in Paris, Marbella, Saudi Arabia and London’s Eaton Square, as well as a £50million Oxfordshire estate. Mr Said admits that he played a ‘small’ role in the controversial 1986 Al Yamamah deal which saw Saudi Arabia buy £40billion worth of fighter planes from the UK amid allegations of bribery. As well as Baroness Thatcher and her son Mark, close personal friends include numerous other senior Conservative politicians and former Labour minister Peter Mandelson. Mr Said gave £25million to Oxford University in 1996 to found the Said Business School, and now travels the world in his own Boeing 737, making business 'deals behind the scenes’. Mr Duncan confirmed he was at the wedding, while Downing Street said they ‘weren’t going to deny’ that Viscountess Astor was there too.
