May 23, 201213 yr The annual EBU press conference is now taking place in Baku and I found this point from Jon Ola Sand very interesting: Apparent,y there was a “diverse result between jury and televoting. 8 Songs agreed in both votes, 1 qualified thanks to televoting, and one other due to heavy jury support. Heavy jury support must be Albania, televoting could be Moldova? You can follow a live blog of the press conference on escxtra.com .
May 23, 201213 yr I'd be inclined to say that the televote helped Cyprus, the word on the internet is that Ivi's jury rehearsal wasn't up to much!
May 23, 201213 yr I reckon Albania was the jury pick (or Iceland at a stretch), but the televote pick is harder to call. Could be any of Russia, Cyprus, Moldova or Greece.
May 23, 201213 yr Latvia PRETENTIOUS? Do you know what pretentious means Pavel? "Attempting to impress by affecting greater talent than is actually possessed". There's no irony in the song whatsoever.
May 23, 201213 yr If you're seriously trying to claim there's absolutely no irony at all in a song by a Latvian thinking she'll be taking calls from Mick Jagger and writing songs with Paul McCartney after winning Eurovision, then you're probably Aspergic.

Maybe she does think so! :o Who knows those weird Slavs.
May 23, 201213 yr Of course the Latvian entry is ironic! Surely her performance mannerisms gave away that much?! I thought it was a fabulous song. Not too disappointed about it failing to qualify, but I think the lyrics would have gained attention in the final. "did she just say she's gonna reject calls from Mick Jagger?" "does she think this is gonna make her the next Johnny Logan" lol etc.

May 23, 201213 yr I can't say it got a particularly good reception from what I saw on the Twitter search feed from viewers.
May 23, 201213 yr Normal people don't TWEET their reactions right after perfromances :D So it's IRRELEVANT.
May 23, 201213 yr I'm kinda hoping she doesn't, I don't like things being predictable. Having said that though, Loreen is probably my favourite of the favourites right now (haven't heard Italy or Spain), but definitely not my favourite of the contest. But, the chances of Cyprus or Romania winning.. very unlikely.
May 23, 201213 yr It's very open race and I'll enjoy every second of it (except when the presenters are talking)

It would probably be a little naive to assume the juries didn't like Russia.
