Posted April 12, 201213 yr Tour is happening :D Jennifer Lopez to Perform 60-Plus Dates On First-Ever World Tour, Beginning In June (EXCLUSIVE) Get ready, world! Jennifer Lopez is preparing to announce her first-ever world tour, Celebuzz has exclusively learned. Fresh from the pulsating release of her latest single, ‘Dance Again,’ with Cuban rapper Pitbull (whom Lopez collaborated with on the 2011 hit ‘On the Floor’), the 42-year-old superstar will perform a grueling schedule of more than 60 tour dates, kicking things off in South America, in June. That figure is likely to increase when tour promoter AEG completes the list. The Puerto Rican diva is expected to hold a press conference to unveil the global jaunt as soon as next week — tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 16 — a source with knowledge of the tour confirmed, but who spoke to Celebuzz on the condition on anonymity. “J.Lo and her team have blocked out more than a month of their schedules, beginning May 4, to start intense rehearsals, each day, at a sound stage in the Los Angeles area,” the source said. “This will be a huge tour, complete with a lavish set, full band and team of dancers.” The singer’s boyfriend, Casper Smart, is choreographing the tour, the source added. It will include legs in the United States, South America, Europe and Asia; however, many of these dates have yet to be confirmed. The tour will start in the second week of June, in Venezuela, travel to Chile and Argentina, then head to Brazil for three concerts in Sao Paulo, Rio De Janeiro and Fortaleza, before trekking back to the United States. The U.S. leg will begin in the middle of July; however, more production rehearsals have been scheduled before the journey around the nation, beginning July 4, the source said. http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-04-12/jennife...june-exclusive/
April 12, 201213 yr REALLY? YES. I never would've put her on my list of people to see live a few years ago but after the last era and 'Dance Again' I am THERE.
April 12, 201213 yr I am putting off my PS3 for tickets, hope she comes to Scotland ;_; I wouldn't hold your breath. I am now in love with "Dance Again" - it took a long while to grow, and also some of the scratchy bits do sound very alike to "On the Floor", the chorus is just an anthem, so it'll be a nice bridge to the next album, even if I would prefer a Greatest Hits at this stage.
April 12, 201213 yr I would be there in a heartbeat. It's ridiculous to think she's never toured. There aren't many performers out there as talented.
April 12, 201213 yr I would also be there, she has such a good back catalogue that it's crazy and live performances I've seen her do on award shows and stuff have been pretty damn good. I dread to think what ticket prices will be like though.
April 12, 201213 yr Part of me wants this next album to be a greatest hits now, I'd love to see all her classics on tour! Based on the rumoured number of dates, I'd say a greatest hits is likely. I wouldn't expect ticket prices to be too high, I can imagine them being £40 at most - probably at the Hammersmith Apollo for the London date? I hope so anyway, I don't think she can get away with arenas.
April 12, 201213 yr If Dance Again is the big hit it's shaping up to me I don't see why she couldn't do arenas, if not necessarily at full capacity...
April 12, 201213 yr I just don't think she has a big or solid enough following to perform at arenas, she's definitely more of a singles artists than an album/touring one. She had one of the biggest selling hits of last year and her album sold next to nothing. It's all about the fanbase, which is practically non-existent here. I guess she might be able to do two arena dates here for a greatest hits tour, but I'm expecting four or five medium sized venue dates.
April 12, 201213 yr I think she could do arenas, definitely. Although maybe not sell out... certainly sell enough to be profitable.
April 12, 201213 yr I think she could possibly sell out Wembley Arena IMO. The capacity's only 12,500 and it is her first tour so i'm guessing people would be curious to see her. Either way, if she did perform at the Hammersmith Apollo, I wouldn't mind since its closer to where I live
April 12, 201213 yr There's no way she would tour here unless it was arenas. Can you really see Jennifer Lopez performing and Hammersmith Apollo!? She might not sell albums here etc...but she's a massive name regardless and I think she could definitely sell out arenas (maybe not full capacity like Jark said). Just because you don't sell shit loads of albums doesn't mean you can't sell tour tickets. A new artist obviously couldn't but when you've built up and sustained a career it's a lot easier. Look at McFly, can't sell albums anymore but they somehow manage to sell loads of concert tickets.

She does seem like a 'superstar' who should be above venues like the Hammersmith Apollo, but in the last year or so I've seen Adele, Katy Perry, Alexandra Burke and Nicole Scherzinger there (with Nicki Minaj to come) so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to picture Jennifer Lopez there. I'd definitely group Jennifer Lopez with that bunch of artists instead of the likes of Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and P!nk. She's built up a career, but I don't know if it's concrete enough. One decent sized hit, followed by a smaller hit per era does not make an arena selling popstar. McFly are different because they still have a fanbase of rabid girls, Jennifer Lopez doesn't really have a fanbase. We'll see though, it could still go either way (the '60 date' thing does make me wonder if she's doing big venues) but my initial thought was the Apollo.
April 12, 201213 yr This bitch RULES THE WORLD*. She would not in a million years lower herself to low-rent venues like a bloody APOLLO. *MY WORLD ANYWAY
April 13, 201213 yr Haha, I guess I could see her in arenas but at an Apollo price tag. I think The Saturdays and Katy Perry did arena dates for under £30 a ticket, she could probably almost fill one for that.
April 13, 201213 yr As I have said, this is JLO - the popstar, the moviestar, the celeb, the DIVA. I would be very surprised (although pleased) if she decided that for her first tour she'd charge half the price of GaGa and tour smaller venues when even The Saturdays had a go at arenas.

Adele could have sold arenas out all year round if she wanted to. Katy Perry could have sold out quite a few. Alexandra Burke had released one album and hadn't built up a massive fanbase. And as for Nicole, she's hardly gonna be doing arenas after her mahoooosive solo career. Britney hardly managed it with the last era because she's not a big name over here anymore. Of course she's Britney Spears but she's not releavant here anymore because she's not in the public eye enough. To me, after the last era and OTF, American Idol, then Dance Again coming, hopefully a greatest hits. She's relevant at the minute and she's doing right by capatalising on it. It's mad to think she's never toured, so many hits but never quite had the fanbase. I definitely think it's a great time to do it. Imo she could definitely sell 8 dates in the UK, Full capacity or not. Maybe I'm being loonish but heck.
April 13, 201213 yr I'd so be there. A Greatest Hits is definitely more favourable to coincide with a world tour.
May 2, 201213 yr So she's announced a US tour with Enrique, similar to what Britney was going to do last year I guess. Here's hoping for UK (solo) dates :D
