June 9, 201213 yr "that shower of shite" is OPA! 'Watch My Dance' is dreadful too of course but ever so slightly better. We've all seen Turkey fail to make the final in 2011 but both of these songs making the final lead me to believe that Greece will literally qualify with anything. So Greece not sending ethnopop females means they should automatically not qualify? OPA was an ethno stomper, it was always going to qualify (if performed good of course; which it was) and Watch My Dance... Well, it was the Semifinal closer, plus after seeing the actual performance it would've been really stupid to even think about this song not qualifying. Europe eats this shit up like CRAZY.
June 9, 201213 yr Opa! was amazing to be honest, still have it on my iPod. But, Watch My Dance, there must be something I don't get about that performance, like, nothing really happens and it leaves no impact on me.
June 9, 201213 yr So Greece not sending ethnopop females means they should automatically not qualify? I supported Sakis and he isn't an 'ethnopop female'. :D
June 9, 201213 yr He may as well be :kink: For the record I didn't get Watch My Dance either. But I LOVED Opa :D
June 9, 201213 yr I find Opa tends to be one of the most fondly remembered entries amongst people I talk to about the contest. They don't follow the contest that closely, so I do find it very interesting how Opa has been singled out as one of the more memorable and most liked entries of recent years.
June 10, 201213 yr This thread is an abomination. Is this Alex user mentally ill? I hope so, because if not, this user is a disgrace to the Eurovision community and whatever country they come from (given the lack of musical insight, I assume Portugal).
June 10, 201213 yr Erm? Mentally ill, that's really rude - his opinions may not be of the norm, compared to the rest of the members, but that's a really disgusting thing to say. Don't like either of those, Suus doing so well is just baffling, none of the shouting she does comes close to being in tune but never mind. 1/10 stuff.
June 10, 201213 yr 'Suus' not in tune? Bitch f***ing please. The Final performance was slightly worse than the Semi one but still incredible. Well, you probably think that Romania's singer was in tune the whole time during the Semi performance so I won't say anything else. :D This thread is an abomination. Is this Alex user mentally ill? I hope so, because if not, this user is a disgrace to the Eurovision community and whatever country they come from (given the lack of musical insight, I assume Portugal). Now that's a very rude thing to say. Probably nobody in the world agrees with most of the things posted in this thread but to say such a thing is wrong. And woah such a generalisation about OS PORTUGUESES. If I were Portuguese I'd be insulted. To be frank, I expected more open-mindedness from a person of (allegedly) Swedish origin. :(
June 10, 201213 yr It may not seem rude to you but one can't just go and call everyone 'mentally ill' every time they don't agree with something other people said.
June 10, 201213 yr Mentally ill was not meant as an insult. This user apparently refused to watch the final - that's genuinely disturbing behaviour for a Eurovision fan. It is one thing to dislike a number of tunes that others like. It's another to create a bizarre and perverse list and rank songs like "Suus" or "Jan Jan" with "Light A Candle", "Wolves Of The Sea", "Strings Of My Heart", "Northern Girl". Abomination of a thread.
June 10, 201213 yr It's just his opinion? I've only been watching it intensely over the last few years, and I'd place Suus in my worst 10. It's not an abomination, it's one user presenting his opinions, whether you agree or not. I happen to think Jan Jan is good, you don't, big deal, he's allowed to present his views on songs. Get over it.
June 10, 201213 yr 'Suus' not in tune? Bitch f***ing please. The Final performance was slightly worse than the Semi one but still incredible. Well, you probably think that Romania's singer was in tune the whole time during the Semi performance so I won't say anything else. :D It's not, she's just shouting, really loud, annoying, painful shouting. Everyone in my family thought the same  And, no, she wasn't in tune the whole time in the semi, she wasn't even in time in the semi for some of it - what's that got to do with anything?
June 10, 201213 yr It's not, she's just shouting, really loud, annoying, painful shouting. Everyone in my family thought the same  And, no, she wasn't in tune the whole time in the semi, she wasn't even in time in the semi for some of it - what's that got to do with anything? I was just hoping you thought Mandinga performed super well even though she was like 6 seconds late with her lines :kink:
June 10, 201213 yr I watch all finals and semifinals in period 1995-2011, I heard all Eurovision songs and watch all old contests from 1956 on Youtube and all songs from Irish National Finals, which I could find. All my favourites didn't qualify in final and I heard all songs from 2012 many times. I don't have any interess in final without my favourites and with predictable winner's song, which I hate. It's really really weird. f***ed up even. You mean to say you've spent three hours watching the 1989 contest, but refuse to watch the 2012 final? Really weird.
