Posted May 23, 201213 yr Posted by 'Greek God' on Haven : In pages 14 & 15 of last week's MW (WE 19.05.2012), Paul Williams disclosed some sales data for the 1st quarter (Q1) of 2012. It appears that from now on MW, in conjunction with The OCC, will begin issuing a full detailed quarterly report as a separate publication, aimed mainly at the Music Industry people. This will come at an exorbitant price of £250 per report, so that makes it a round £1,000 per annum! MW subscribers are offered a discounted price of £195 per issue. As a taster, they are offering this first issue (Q1 of 2012) for free for current MW subscribers, to be browsed on-line only via the (notorious) "yudu" reader: http://content.yudu.com/A1wudw/MW-Q1-12/resources/index.htm

May 25, 201213 yr Author You need to be a MW subscriber to view that link. WTF were they *thinking* though, putting a price of £250 on it? £25, maybe...
May 25, 201213 yr WTF were they *thinking* though, putting a price of £250 on it? £25, maybe... Yeah, £250 seems a bit steep by any standards if you ask me. Having studied it, it's a good read but - apart from the sales figures - I didn't think it was really any different to the end-of-year analysis they provide in the regular edition of the magazine. I don't know how they came up with that £250 price... Strikes me as 'think of a number'!
May 25, 201213 yr Yeah, £250 seems a bit steep by any standards if you ask me. Having studied it, it's a good read but - apart from the sales figures - I didn't think it was really any different to the end-of-year analysis they provide in the regular edition of the magazine. I don't know how they came up with that £250 price... Strikes me as 'think of a number'! All that information would be better accessible through the main mag, don't know why they had to put a huge price hike on it, its still expensive for MW subscribers at £195 a throw on top of my existing account . Its probably more garnered for the music industry who can really afford it.
July 24, 201212 yr This link works: http://www.musicweek.com/_media/excerpt/1-...q112-report.pdf Trust me, that report is brilliant!! :w00t: Fantastic for sales loons like myself! :P Mind you, some of the total sales are a bit strange - they have total sales for Florence + the Machine's No Light, No Light as 574k :P Edited July 24, 201212 yr by liamk97
