This article is full of complete BULLSHIT. Daehun has NOT issued an apology and will NOT do so in the near future regarding the Girls Aloud incident. :)

What are all these bizarre denials from you? Are you trying to start a war?

Daehun's news agency is always reliable on our reports. Emperor Gikwang has admitted into the information he said regarding Girls Aloud but he has NOT issued an apology at all to the leader of Umiiruka.

So if they're always reliable then how come you lied about saying it in the first place?

Emergency bulletin - Daehunese press 'deny that 1 + 1 = 2'

In shocking new developments, it has been leaked that the next edition of Daehun's new source, DaeNews, plans to deny that 1 + 1 = 2 and instead has re-evaluated the equation to equal 7.

This follows an array of other bizarre denials of simple facts that we can only assume are an attempt to confuse the Daehunese population into allegiance to Emperor Gikwang's regime.

Further news will be reported as we receive it.

I see how you editted your original statement on our 'apology'.

Daehun wishes to leave Jubirdia tbh.

Persephonia obtain 'alternate universe' technology

Through entirely legitimate methods that absolutely did not in any way involve the threat of a bombing attack on capital city Darpabrak, Persephonia has obtained permission to use new technology developed by Altyr Muunilinst's top scientists that is used to generate alternate universes in which to wreak havoc without causing real-BJSC-world damage.

The technology was originally developed as part of Altyr Muunilinst's recently-declared war on the nation of Ashton. Persephonia's scientists have not revealed what they plan to utilise the technology for.

Persephonian retailers boycott FSR Rontvia compilation

Many retailers across Persephonia, especially in Smithigan state, are refusing to stock the 'Best of FSR Rontvia' compilation album due to the omission of the track 'Runaway' by Mr Little Jeans.

Major stores such as Derpco and Herpison's have cancelled their orders of the album. 'Runaway' is a hugely popular song in Persephonia, a country where foreign BJSC entries are rarely more than a brief fad. The song received 12 points from Persephonia when it was entered in BJSC XLIV. It finished eighth in the competition, since which the historically hugely successful country has only made the top 10 once more (XLV entry 'Maailman Toisella Puolen' by Haloo Helsinki!, which repeated the 8th place finish of 'Runaway' and was also popular with Persephonian voters, receiving 4 points).

Raphael Rudig, the CEO of Derpco, an international chain based in Persephonia City, was quoted as saying "a compilation of FSR Rontvia is nothing without 'Runaway'. To many Persephonians, 'Runaway' IS Rontvia".

Some smaller retailers are still stocking the CD but the lack of wide availability means Persephonia is likely to be one of the only countries in the BJSC world where the compilation will not go straight to #1.

The tracklisting of the CD is below:

1. Delta Goodrem - Believe Again

2. Sara Bareilles - Love Song

3. Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig - Mine All Mine

4. Sanna Nielsen - Nobody Without You

5. Mira Craig - Headhunted

6. Pixie - Boys & Girls

7. The Sound of Arrows - M.A.G.I.C.

8. Blänk feat Young Ivy - I'm Going For Your Brother

9. Beautiful Small Machines - Robots In Love

10. Anna Abreu - Music Everywhere

11. Caro Emerald - A Night Like This

12. Staygold feat Spank Rock, Damien Adore & Lady Tigra - Backseat

13. Sheelah - Psycho

14. Zowie - Broken Machine

15. Sheelah - The Last Time

16. Eric Amarillio - Om Sanningen Ska Fram

17. Chart Music - All My Life

18. Lise Karlsnes - Red Hot

19. Prance Faris - Flares

20. Rae Morris - Don't Go

S O H N represents Persephonia in the landmark 50th contest amidst minor 'cheapness' controversy

Persephonia's 29th entry to the BuzzJack Song Contest, for the contest's landmark 50th edition (L) in Mílanó, Fljótavík, has been oficially announced as 'The Wheel' by British-born Austrian-based singer/songwriter/producer S O H N.

The entry was a source of minor internal controversy as S O H N recently won a related song contest, Unknown Pleasures, with another song, 'O S C I L L A T E'. Persephonia prides itself on not recycling artists and while S O H N technically fits this (having never previous been sent to the BuzzJack Song Contest), many Persephonians argued that recycling artists from Unknown Pleasures would be just as bad.

Nonetheless, the Persephonian selection team ultimately decided that the quality of the song and the higher likelihood of success than other potential entries justified the slight 'cheapness' of recycling an Unknown Pleasures winner.

Hopes are high for the song to be one of Persephonia's more successful entries or at the very least provide us with only our second ever run of qualifying from the semi-final three times in a row. The song was drawn into the fifth slot of the second semi-final. Listen to the song below.

S O H N qualify for the 50th BJSC final

As announced a little under a week ago, Persephonia's entry to BJSC L, 'The Wheel' by S O H N has qualified, giving Persephonia a record-equalling streak of 3 consecutive tracks qualifying for the final.

There are high hopes that the song could finally return our nation to the BJSC top 10, for the second time ever following XXX entry 'Revolving' by Spark, which came 6th. 'The Wheel' has received short odds from many bookmakers including those of FSR Rontvia who gave the song 6/1 odds to win, listed as the third most likely winner. Most predictions of the final top 15 place the track in the top 10 also.

However, President Salim Zosimus has urged Persephonians not to get their hopes up too much - odds and predictions are a good indicator of incoming success but not a gospel. Zosimus himself said he would "only be disappointed if the song failed to give Persephonia another top 15 hit".

The final results of BJSC L are expected to be announced on Sunday (25th).

S O H N disappoints but some consolation as it breaks a Persephonian record and outscores Vampire, Azari, Machines

The positive predictions for Persephonia's entry to BJSC L, S O H N's 'The Wheel', turned out to be a bit of false hope for our nation to finally get a second top 10 hit. As it happens, the song landed in 19th place, repeating the success of Deaf Club's 'Moving Still' last contest.

It gives Persephonia its 9th top 20 hit to date, 5 of which have come from this year - a year of consistency but not great highs, with Kidnap Kid's 14th place finish with 'Vehl' in BJSC XLV remaining our best finish of the year.

More significantly, it breaks Persephonia's record for consecutive top 20 hits - previously the best run we managed was 2 (Spark and Beth Ditto in XXX and XXXI) but in the past 3 contests, Machines Don't Care, Deaf Club and S O H N have finished 17th, 19th and 19th respectively. Celebration of this fact has been rather muted though considering it was seen as more or less a certainty and expected to have come with a much more emphatic third finish.

It's Persephonia's joint 8th best finish by final position, but actually our fifth best by final points. BJSC L was a very closely run final, with the winner (Numayania's entry 'Indigo' by Frida Sundemo as expected) getting just 161 points and winning on a tie-break with FSR Rontvia's entry 'Hunters And The Wolves' by Delta Goodrem. This closeness means that despite landing two places lower, 'The Wheel' received more points (86) than all three of Persephonia's #17 finishes to date - Vampire Weekend's 'Cousins' got 63 points in BJSC XXIII, Azari & III's 'Reckless (With Your Love)' had 80 in XLII and two contests ago Machines Don't Care's 'Beat Dun Drop' (feat. Meleka) received 79 points. 'The Wheel' also received 14 more points than Deaf Club's 'Moving Still' got to land in the same position last month.

'The Wheel' was the eighth most popular song in semi-final 2 receiving a total of 60 points, so the track's qualification was never in doubt unlike 'Moving Still' which was extremely lucky and reliant on others failing to vote in its qualification.

Finally we should note that we received two top scores of 12 points for 'The Wheel', one from Deandria and one from Fljótavík. This is one fewer 12 than last month but two more than 'Beat Dun Drop', so still a satisfactory showing.

BJSC L - the full final results

As above, Numayania's 'Indigo' by Frida Sundemo and FSR Rontvia's 'Hunters And The Wolves' by Delta Goodrem battled it out in an extremely closely run contest, both receiving 161 points. The Sundemo track was judged to have won by virtue of receiving votes from more people (25 to Goodrem's 23). 'Indigo' is the third BJSC winner from Numayania who previously won BJSC XX with Alphabeat's 'The Spell' and BJSC XLIII with Dragonette's 'Let It Go'. 'Hunters And The Wolves' would have been an incredible eighth winner for FSR Rontvia had it received just one more point. The remainder of the top 5 was dominated by close political allies of Persephonia; #3 and #4 were both Jubirdia members with K-Pop songs achieving personal bests (Daehun with Ailee's 'I Will Show You' and Aquafina with Girls' Generation's 'Flower Power' respectively) while Skall, a long-time ally of Persephonia, scored a second top 5 hit in a row with 'Fall 4 U' by Chad Valley feat. Glasser at #5. All of the top five were winning at some point during the final reveal.

PRoJ came sixth with 'Better Than Yourself' by Lukas Graham, a welcome return to the top 10 for the nation (though Persephonian voters didn't award the track any points); Espen's Karl X Johan came 7th with 'Get It All'; Launiça on only their second final appearance ever and their first under the name Launiça hugely improved their personal best grabbing an eighth place finish with Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive', 21 places higher than their only previous qualifier; Isconia were 9th with Kitten's 'G#'; while another Jubirdia member Hendinia held up the rear of the top 10 with Sharon Doorson's 'Fail In Love', a pure pop track in a sea of indie in the lower end of the top 10. It's Hendinia's 4th top 10 finish in a row.

N DNTN just missed out on a second straight top 10 coming 11th with Fenech-Soler's 'All I Know' (the lowest placed track to score in triple figures, receiving 102 points); Ben's Sanctuary's long-awaited return entry 'Tonight' by Kállay Saunders feat. Rebstar gave them a strong return position of #12; Jubirdia member Ramrynia with Orion's 'In The End' and 'Trust' by Sin Cos Tan representing Syndare were 13th and 14th, with some confusion over who earnt 13th place (it was decided as Ramrynia after being controversially initially announced as Syndare); and another Persephonian ally Aeroche scored a second 15th-place finish in a row following three straight wins, with 'Feeling's Gone' by Beacon.

Young London represented Scherzland at #16 with 'Call My Name (Tonight)'; Persephonian voters' favourite 'The Woods' by Frost sadly only came a lowly 17th for Jubirdia member Umiiruka but had the biggest improvement from its semi-final position, going off which it was expected to come last place; Altyr Muunilinst, a rival of Persephonia who we surprisingly traded high points with this contest, came 18th with Pair Of Arrows' 'Vestige'; Persephonia ourselves came 19th as discussed in detail above; Deandria pleasingly bagged a top 20 hit with 'Breathe' by Télépopmusik coming 20th despite qualifying under controversial circumstances.

'москва' by DJ Smash feat. винтаж was 21st for Ingermanlandia; Unovia returned to average success after their shock hit last month, new entry 'Evil Spawn' by Tove Lo coming 22nd; Lena Katina's 'Never Forget' was 23rd for returnees Cascadia.

And so the bottom 7 were: Danaelanda (EDX's 'Touched' 24th, not a bad showing as it qualified under the same circumstances as the Deandria entry), Botanikka (the Kamp! remix of Brodka's 'Dancing Shoes' 25th), Sandebörg (Electric Nana's 'Playground' 26th), Elëdan (Telepathe's 'Destroyer' 27th), Ashton (William Orbit's 'Spiral' (feat. Kenna and Sugababes) 28th), hosts Fljótavík (Phebe Starr*'s 'Alone With You' 29th) and bringing up the rear with the 50th wooden spoon, Batidas (SX's 'Gold' 30th and last).

Significant movers; the top 4 has a significant clearout as Umiiruka jump =10-3 while N DNTN and Mdiče, previously joint 5th, jump to 2 and 4 respectively. Fljótavík are now well in the lead as they awarded Persephonia 12 this contest. Danaelanda move up from 15 to =11, Kylienips from 17 to =13, Syndare from =22 to 18 (a low position considering they are one of the more frequent Persephonia voters) and PRoJ from 28 to 22. A very satisfactory 6 new additions to the list. Deandria debut strongly on both lists, equal 16th here as they awarded us 12, Altyr Muunilinst come in at 21, Palmyra at =24, FSR Rontvia (an addition of which we are very proud) at =30, Aeroche at =36 and finally Cascadia (another country debuting on both lists) at =42.

Wooden spoon?

I was expecting to see 'Gold' right at the bottom of your ratings so at least it wasn't a complete disaster with you.

Extraordinary that I've never given you points in any final. Surely that will change at some point. :o (it's only fair considering I'm 6th in your list)

Wooden spoon is the equivalent of a gold medal except on the other end of the table :D

And you may possibly have voted for me before, just not this year (previous contests aren't included in that data). You might have just not voted for me at all though of course :P One day.

Syndare from =22 to 18 (a low position considering they are one of the more frequent Persephonia voters)

Angel Haze as well. But alas.

Sorry, I really tried to get into 'Trust' but it just wasn't doing anything for me :(
