Im glad Cyprus is doing well on itunes in various countries its a great upbeat pop song.

Italians must feel a bit silly been the only country not to give Sweden anything!!

Yet on their I-Tunes its the most successful song, albeit not uber high up. Juries and diaspora can really change the way the general public really feel about the songs.

iamamiwhoami for next years interval act tho

bitch only going UP if we count from the DIRT!

omg jake as if christina aguilera would do the interval act for a ~swedish~ ~eurovision~

I WANT HALF AN HOUR OF LENA PHILIPSSON, HATAHS WIGS ~SNATCHED~!

Just been skimming through this thread after watching the results so...

Sweden winning is just AMAZING in every possible way!! Can't describe how good it is to see my song of the year win it.

Many other good and bad things about the results, I'll try and briefly skim over them but I'm quite tired now so they're gonna be basic:

Good: Azerbaijan and Albania doing VERY well, both gave great performances and while I never expected them to be up there like they were, good on them for doing so.

Estonia and Macedonia doing better than expected, again, both really sold themselves out on their performances and deserved to do well, despite me not raving about them before.

Moldova, Italy and Spain all doing respectably and making up a lovely 9th-11th space.

Bad:

Poor Nordic countries (Sweden aside). Tooji's live abilities were awful, but I thought Soluna and Greta & Jonsi deserved FAR better than what they got.

Turkey and Germany doing far too well for what the songs deserved.

Cyprus and Greece both failing to do anything really.

And us I suppose, 2nd last isn't what I'd hoped for, but hopefully we'll learn from it and try harder next year? Ah, who am I kidding.

Perhaps if the BBC finally got round to asking Hurts, the UK might actually do well in 2013.

They did back in January.

Of course I'm pleased about this landslide victory!!!

And  about Iceland.

that chorus is so regular and over used at this stage......eugh. There are a few nice hooks in the verse though.
I reckon there will be more than four heats this year. So many people are going to want to enter.

There won't be, as gooddelta said. There's ALWAYS many people who want to enter MF, Loreen winning won't change anything.

iamamiwhoami for next years interval act tho

omg I would pretty much DIE if that happened.

Results of Eurovision 2012 is HUGE SHAME for the Europe.

Cool. Cool cool cool.

My Internet went, so my thoughts:

Omg omg yes at Sweden's win, I love Euphoria so so much it's unreal, definitely my song of the year and when I judge it as time passes I can see it being an all time fave for me! I was actually still worried in my true pessimistic nature, but by less than halfway I knew she would landslide it  I just feel so proud, it's been 4 months in the making and now here she is, the winner

The biggest surprise for me was Albania, all the 12s and high points it got especially :o I'm so glad though, I loved it, one of my faves of the night. I was also shocked at all the bottom few, I thought Norway, Iceland, Denmark and UK deserved much more! Negatives were Serbia doing so well (I guarantee Tooji would be at least top 10 if they sent it ) and Lithuania surprising, but most of all Norway and Denmark (two of my faves all through this year) doing so awfully :(

Overall though, amazing show - my favourite Eurovision song ever wins and I'm so excited for Stockholm 2013 :w00t: Euphoria is #11 on iTunes as well  One place to go for the top 10 boost!

A city to host Eurovision isn't confirmed yet.

LOVING the front cover of Aftonbladet today, it's fair to say that there'll be some severe euphoria in Sweden today.

Makes me wonder how well Danny Saucedo's Amazing would have done, seeing as Christer was attempting to fix that to win over Loreen. At least the Swedish public saw sense and thank god for that or else a novelty song would have won for the first time - will be VERY interesting to see the televote/jury breakdown.

I know, I just assumed Stockholm :P

"Glöm Carola, glöm Herreys, glöm Perrelli – det här är mycket större"? :D

Loreen = nu ABBA? Euphoria - The Musical to open in the West End in 25 years time, also including her other 10 UK #1's? :o

I really hope she's not just a one hit wonder that wheels out Euphoria and nothing else for the rest of eternity. The album would be nice, with a promoted international release and further singles released outside Sweden.

NOT releasing an album after this success would be a retarded idea. So I'm SUPER EXCITED :D
So much can change if you just have a song with potentially massive appeal to Europe (in comparison see Loreen crashing in Andra Chansen last year).

One day perhaps the BBC will understand this. We don't come last/bottom five the whole time because of a lack of neighbours (because Sweden has SO many to garner 372 points), we do so because they fail to grasp the concept of sending a relevant song with widespread appeal. Blue were close admittedly but it was still by an aging boyband, Loreen wasn't known across Europe so they don't need to search for a formerly big name, they just need somebody with a great voice and stage presence singing a fantastic song, is it really that hard to organise?

SO many people keep saying 'ITS ALL POLITICZ!!!1' (mostly Russian, Ukranians, Belarusians, who ALWAYS support Belarusian entries no matter what it is while moaning about neighbourly vote (and surprise-surprise POLITICZ) every year - talk about pot-kettle-f***ing-black?! :D ), also that 'Scandinavian nations aren't really hated by anyone hence they do well'. First of all, Belarus haven't sent a worthy song since 2007, so guess why 'Europe hates Belarus'. :manson: Second of all, everyone's love for Scndinavia doesn't hinder Norway to do AWFUL in the past 3 years, Sweden DNQing in 2010 and Finland missing the Final every two years.

There's ALWAYS an excuse for your country/favourite to not do well, and it's definitely not QUALITY of a song.

I was satisfied by the results, my number #1 and #2 ended up at places 3 and 5 respectively. Also, Loreen was my #5 so she was a deserved winner. Even though it was blatantly obvious that was gonna landslide the first time I heard it.

I was surprised (but kind of pleased) at Norway coming last. Shame about the UK though.
