Bloc Party's third and last top 10, 'Flux' is their most popular song on Buzzjack being the only one to qualify. It finished 2nd in the 2007 round but only scrapes the top 40 in the final today. It is my personal favourite song from them.

 

39 - Goldfrapp "A&E" (2008) (+86)

I don't care for this song really, the only Goldfrapp song I liked was Ooh La La which spent 2 weeks in the top 10. Clearly a lot of people think differently as it came 3rd in its yearly round and now finishes in the top 40.

 

38 - Shakira "Don't Bother" (2006) (+89)

I'm not a fan of Shakira, and a quick youtube of this song tells me that I don't really like this song. Later in the year she saved her career by releasing the massive smash hit "Hips Don't Lie" which I personally love. Don't Bother came 9th in the semi finals.

 

37 - Alizee "Moi... Lolita" (2002) (+90)

I haven't heard this song before. So again it's a trip to youtube for me as I find out Alizee is a French singer and this whole song is in French. However, the language barrier didn't stop this from going top 10 in the UK and it didn't stop Buzzjack from putting it at 3rd in the yearly round.

36 - Missy Elliot "Work It" (2002) (+94)

Before Nicki Minaj came along, Missy Elliot was the biggest female rapper around. And deservedly so, as she's a great rapper and the beat used is not like how they do it anymore. This is good but not as good as my favourites, Lose Control and Get Ur Freak On. It came first in its yearly round but there are still 2 more songs from 2002 to come later in the countdown.

 

35 - t.A.T.u. "Not Gonna Get Us" (2003) (+98)

This was the second of three top ten hits for the duo. I haven't heard it before, and on first listens it doesn't sound that great. Of course Buzzjack loves girl groups so it's no surprise that this came 2nd in its yearly round. Their other one week wonder "All About Us" isn't on this chart.

 

34 - Chase & Status feat. Plan B "End Credits" (2009) (+101)

And now we come to the first act in the top 40 that aren't has-beens. Chase & Status recently got to #1 as producers on Rita Ora's "R.I.P.". This was the first of two top ten hits for the duo as well as the first hit for Plan B. I personally love this song and this is arguably drum n' bass' first big hit. Drum n' bass is currently at #1 in the form of Rudimental/John Newman.

 

33 - Pink "Sober" (2009) (+102)

Another artist that is still relevant today, having recently released a greatest hits album. This is Pink's last single-digit peaking song to date (F**kin Perfect went to #10) For me it's one of my least favourite songs of hers. Pink has 2 more songs coming up in the countdown.

 

32 - Coldplay "Yellow" (2000) (+103)

This was the first big hit for Coldplay. I really don't like this song, Coldplay have done much better (Viva la Vida, Violet Hill and Clocks for example) but Buzzjack does have its Coldplay loons so I'll let them have their moment :P

Sophie's last top ten hit before turning into a flopstar. I personally like this song but not enough to give it points. The follow up Me And My Imagination deserved better than #23 :(

One of my least favourites from Mika. A ballad only goes down with me when it's done well, and it looks like some people think opposite to me, as it starts our top 30. It finished 6th in the semi finals

 

29 - Natalie Imbruglia "Shiver" (2005) (+110)

This is actually a good song, I didn't give it any points but I like it. It came 2nd in its yearly round. This was Natalie's last of her 5 top ten hits, her debut hit "Torn" obviously being her best selling and most known song, but Shiver is easily my 2nd favourite of hers.

 

28 - Christina Aguilera "The Voice Within" (2003) (+114)

Forget "Beautiful", because this is Christina's most beautiful song imo. It missed out on my points but it's my favourite Aguilera ballad. "Hurt" is another good Xtina ballad but that spent 2 weeks at #11. My top 3 Christina songs are Genie in a Bottle, Dirrty and Candyman (I miss the fun Christina :cry: I was hoping she'd do something off the success of Moves Like Jagger but she hasn't released a single since that flop album Bionic) TVW finished 7th in the semi finals.

 

27 - Vanessa Amorosi "Absolutely Everybody" (2000) (+115) (11 voters) (high +25) (2nd high +18)

And now we come to a great slice of Eurocheese :heart: This got lots of points from me, why this song wasn't massive I don't know. This song had to go through *3* tiebreakers before losing out to #26 (I will reveal that soon) This came 2nd in the yearly round. There is one more song from 2000 to come (no it isn't the winner of the yearly round, that was Kelis who finished at #43)

 

26 - Kaiser Chiefs "I Predict A Riot/Sink That Ship" (2005) (+115) (11 voters) (high +25) (2nd high +22)

It is a double a side, but we all know this is in the final because of "I Predict a Riot". This is a great song by one of my favourite British bands of the 00s, so it's great to see this song do well. What a shame the equally brilliant Never Miss A Beat, Oh My God and Everyday I Love You Less And Less aren't here. :(

I haven't heard this before, on first listen it's alright but doesn't sound like the Pink I know and love. It has its fans though and starts off our top 25. It came 2nd in its yearly round.

Winning the tie against Pink is Kylie Minogue. This is Kylie's first of two entries in the final. I personally like this song, it's electropop Kylie at her best. It came 2nd in its yearly round.
