She gave a fantastic performance last night for the Royals, and I'm sure the rest of Buzzjack will go on saying that it was awfully sang/she mimed etc. but just CHANGE THE RECORD. My friends who I watched it with (and dislike Cheryl) tried to insist that she was miming, but they obviously could just tell that she was giving a good vocal. Obviously the long note at the end wasn't perfect, but Robbie Williams went shaky during a long note at the end of his performance, and nobody's slated the rest of that, so... I'd say it's her best live vocal since "Set Fire to the Third Bar" too, and she really suited "Need You Now".

I'm hoping there are a few slower songs on A Million Lights, and that it doesn't just turn out into another Alexandra Burke situation. I was really hoping she'd go into "Call My Name" after that too, but alas, it wasn't to be

Sorry but I was embarassed for her watching that.
It was a pretty bad vocal tbh, and I've not seen anyone say different - online or in real life. It's sad because I love her and she tries hard when she sings live but she just can't do it. That said, nobody gave a perfect live performance so she was by no means the only one and her tone suits this sort of song well.

This song is back to itunes top 20, so many people have to like this. It wasn't a good song choice, this song is too hard for Cheryl's vocal abilities, but she definitely sang live, and she was pretty good.

Sorry but no one in their right mind would think she was miming this.
Oh dear god, how anyone can say that vocal was 'good' is beyond me. Literally painful on my ears, I wish she hadn't broken her trend and actually HAD mimed.

It was chronically bad.

I'm sure the song was chosen very carefully knowing her limited vocal ability to give her the best chance of a decent performance but she failed miserably. Twitter was alight last night saying she was murdering the song and it was true.

Im starting to really think that she mimed the whole voice performance now because if she cant sing live with no dancing then she cant while dancing

There is a difference between liking the song and liking the performance. The Jubilee performance was not good, but I will download the song because it introduced me to it.

if somebody has heard this song and liked it he probably already bought it, if somebody didn't know this song and liked Gary & Cheryl performance he bought/ will buy it this week. Sorry it's hard to believe that someone did not know this song and he didn't like her performance, or knew that song, and under the influence of poor performance bought this song.

I am telling you that I did not know this song, and I am now about to download it on the back of this performance despite it not being the best. Consider this proof.

Need You Now is now #18 on iTunes. I think you're a bit naive if you think ALL of those people bought it because they thought Cheryl sang it well...

You don't have to like a performance or a version of a song to download a different one. Look at how many songs do well on iTunes on the back of a totally crap version being sung on X-Factor, all that needs to happen is to be reminded or made aware of a song to buy it. I've downloaded songs despite ropey live versions because I've been reminded how good the original/studio version of the song is.

But GENERALLY good version sung on X-Factor are doing better than crap ;)

How many of the songs sung on the jubilee are doing better on itunes?? Do you really think 100% of this is due to this that this is a good song, and 0% because of Cheryl's performance?

OH DEAR. I don't know why I bother posting in AFs sometimes, truly.
It's clear that she didn't mime because her vocal was APPALLING. All my friends who watched it with me were horrified. She's been shredding in the press and on Twitter as well. Why on earth is she famous for singing? She's tragic as hell.

Comments about Cheryl are always over the top... Vocals weren't very good, but oh well, does it deserve that amount of hate and nasty words? Probably not.

I am not talking about Buzzjack though, most people are pretty civilised here, but Twitter sometimes look like a Sun readers conversation. People need to cool it down about Cheryl's performances, they always over-exagerate. Yes, she's not Adele, no need to make a big deal every single time she sings live or mimes.

I'm not saying this just because I hate her, but seriously this concert was supposed to highlight the 'Best of British' and if Cherly is the best we can come up with, that's a shocking indictment of our popstars. The vocals aren't the only issue with that performance, they are the worst though - utterly shocking, especially the 'need's.l
