Posted June 10, 201213 yr Take That, George Michael to feature in London 2012 closing ceremony A selection of big names in pop have been confirmed for the Olympics closing ceremony, including Take That, The Who and George Michael. The two-and-a-half hour show will be held in London's Olympic Park, and watched live by a potential audience of millions. A committee source told the Daily Mirror: "It is imperative the games close in spectacular fashion and that there is substance as well as style. "The committee wanted four major artists, representing Britain over the past 50 years, to headline." The finale to the London 2012 games will also feature Emeli Sandé and is being overseen by Kim Gavin, who worked as creative director on Take That's comeback 'Circus' tour. A spokesman for Gavin said: "Kim has worked with Take That before and the boys, including Robbie Williams, will put on their most dazzling show." http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a...g-ceremony.html

June 10, 201213 yr Author I'd say we may get a Rob solo song with TT doing backing vocals like they did with No Regrets during Progress Live but id expect the rule the world, never forget, the flood, greatest day and back for good to be high on the list of songs to perform and all hits around the world. I think the nerves could get to Rob knowing millions are watching, he seemed alot more comfortable with TT so if performing with them helps ensure he delivers as we all know he can then im all for it.
June 12, 201213 yr I hope they do Rule the World. It's my fav TT song. (Fav without Bob that is :P ) Naw!! I hate that song, the only one I like is Never Forget
June 13, 201213 yr Rule the World is ace and i just adore the song, it is what i would call my ultimate Take That track. I think they the five men should surprise us for the Olympics. They should try and surprise us and switch around, surely Robbie could add a vocal to a Take That song if needed be like Greatest Day or Rule the World and it could also be interesting to turn a Robbie solo song into a Take That song, it would be something different and may help put a differnt spin on a song. Should something like this occur which Robbie solo single do you think would suit to turn in a Take That song?
June 19, 201213 yr The Who and Take That for Olympic Closing Ceremony Tuesday 19th June 2012 The Who, George Michael, Take That and Robbie Williams will all perform at the London 2012 Closing Ceremony, LBC 97.3 can reveal. Four of the biggest British acts for the past 4 decades will sing two of their hit songs each according to our Olympics Correspondent John Cushing. The two groups and two solo singers have had 23 UK number ones between them, with Take That the most with 11, Robbie and George with 6 each and surprisingly, the Who without one top spot. Kim Gavin is artistic director for the closing ceremony on Sunday August 12th from 9pm. He's the man behind the staging of Take That's Amazing Progress tour last year. X Factor runners up JLS and One Direction will also be on the bill we understand. It's seen very much more as a 'party' than next month's opening ceremony, which Oscar winning director Danny Boyle told us last week was definitely not 'a pop concert', despite Sir Paul McCartney confirming his appearance.
