June 15, 201213 yr Wiz Khalifa and Eva Simons getting back-to-back #1s (albeit as featured artists) would be the most bizarre occurrence in the UK charts since... well, Precision Tunes going top ten officially!
June 17, 201213 yr Another contender - Chris Brown 'Don't Wake Me Up'. Music channels are going crazy for the video, R1 have played it a fair bit over the weekend - could well be a contender for #1, perhaps even more so now that Brown is in the news following his Drake bust-up. Saying that, the release of the album the week after may mean some fans 'hold' back their purchase - after all the EP contains 3 tracks that'll be on the album (Don't Wake Me Up, Till I Die and Sweet Love), so it's a bit pointless to purchase the whole EP if you plan on getting the album too. For next week, I reckon the top 5 will consist of will.i.am, Maroon 5, Flo Rida, Chris Brown and Cheryl (in that order). I'm really hopeful that will.i.am can grab the #1/the 1200th #1, 'This is Love' is just a fantastic track production/chorus wise, sounds even better on the radio. The mention of Jason Derulo is a laughable in this context. If we're talking about 'Undefeated', I've not even heard it once yet and I'm pretty sure x number of people were allowed to download it for free after his American Idol performance of it - so any UK fans will have surely taken the oppurtunity.
