It does seem to get better everytime I hear it but I don't think it's going to go down as a great winner for me

Woodkid winning BJSC was fantastic. Had it not been for Arrs, I would've entered the song despite already confirming 'In My Mind', I would've changed my entry. Finding out from Arrs himself that he's already confirmed the track was a real bummer moment. :lol: :(

 

09 (--) Florrie - To The End (09) [1 wk] Still not feeling this nearly as much as many past Florrie tracks, the new EP has grown on me but it seems like an odd step backwards :(

 

I quite like this to be honest althoguh Woodkid, Swiss Lips and WTF! were comfortably in front in terms of how much I liked the finalists. That said, I think last months BJSC was one of the best we've had so far this year. So many brilliant songs being entered. :wub:

Amazing to think that 'Et Alors !' is now #2 on France iTunes. It's been around for ages yet it seems tracks take ages to really get going. Easily my fave foreign language track entered into BJSC.

Nah, I don't chart BJSC tracks until after the final results have been posted. That way, it means that my points haven't been given away via my personal chart. I also wouldn't say they're charting "late" - it's usually 2 weeks after which is nothing. Consider Woodkid might not get an official release until January 2013 - that's late compared to my chart. :P

Well, technically the only one I really let slip was 'Colours' due to me having to go out somewhere and Dandy* deciding to open confirmations 5 hours too early. :lol: In Arrs case, he confirmed Woodkid straight away - even I hadn't heard the track at that point.

I really didn't know how well this would do. I'm glad I created my own edit of the song as the official radio edit is TRAGIQUE and I'm sure would've cost me some points in the semis and the final. I listened to Flo Rida's version on YouTube and have to admit, I wasn't impressed. Maybe it's because I was so used to hearing 'In My Mind' in this form that hearing rapping over the top just lessens the song for me. :(

You never know. If it is released, it'll be one of those late summer smash hits that get released in late August/early September. It's like 'Ai Se Eu Te Pego!' is now down as getting an official UK release in early September. What?!!! :lol:

Both songs are almost on par with each other. I can't say I really like either track - they're ok, good enough to scrape into my chart at least. Chris Brown edges in front because I prefer 'DWMU' to 'TUTM'. As for Will.I.Am, the whole "let me hear you say hell yeah...HELL YEAH" grates on me somewhat. :no: It's not a classic UK #1 in the making - I'm still surprised it even got there in the first place. Was convinced Maroon 5 would get a second week at the top.

It does seem to get better everytime I hear it but I don't think it's going to go down as a great winner for me

01 (--) Woodkid - Run Boy Run (01) [1 wk] - Interesting to see this enter at #1 for you, it completely passed me by in at least BJSC semis, and while I took notice of it in the final, it only managed to get to 17th in my rankings so I was surprised to see it win with such a large margin. It does seem to get better everytime I hear it but I don't think it's going to go down as a great winner for me

 

Aww!!! :( I actually adore 'Run Boy Run'. I discovered the track about 2 days after confirmations opened but had already confirmed 'In My Mind' just to confirm something. :lol: I was going to change but wanted an opinion. Step forward Arrs who then replied back saying he'd already confirmed the track. The phrase "i was gutted" would be an understatement. It's dramatic, it's dark, it's hauntings, it's got $tring$. I love how it starts off so moody then when the orchestra kicks in, it twists the song entirely into a much happier sounding piece of music. Quirky and unique. :wub:

 

02 (07) Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay - In My Mind (Axwell Remix) (07-02) [2 wks] - Again, I'm sorry, this completely passed me by until after the voting. Your best entry since I last gave you points (Studio Killers I think?) and if I was voting now it might well be close, although it wouldn't have been more than one or two points, it's quite nicely trancey though.

 

At least it's grown on you so at least that's a good thing. :D Axwell's remix of the track is pure *.* - the parts of 'In My Mind' I adore are the breakdowns with the vocals, and then that absolutely incredible synth breakdown which is just total :wub: . I wasn't expecting a top 10 finish so that really was a real surprise for me.

'Danz' is a great track and another fine BJSC discovery. I thought 'U Got The Power' was ok - I'm sure that made my top 40 but quite low down - whilst this song had more instant impact.

I prefer 'I Took A Little Something' more - I gave JohnKM my 12 points for that song but 'To The End' is also a solid pop moment.

Agree. Woodkid is incredible. That's happened to me as well loving songs more after the contest. Love for 'Da Bop! and 'Shining Heart'. :wub:

 

I'm surprised you didn't like 'In My Mind' (unless you did?). I reckon to some extent, our music tastes are similar.
