Posted July 1, 201213 yr Just a LQ preview at the moment: Rm4mzrU_E5g I think I might like this... The video is currently being filmed in Lisbon so it should be out soon. And for those that haven't heard it, the new Pitbull & Shakira song: eB5ZcYNcquI
July 1, 201213 yr I've already given my opinion on "Get it Started" in the R&B forum, and yet "Truth or Dare" manages to sound incredibly similar to that :( It worked for Jennifer Lopez, I guess, but I'll wait to hear the full song until a final judgement.
July 1, 201213 yr It sounds good, and I will probably really like it but I REALLY didn't want her to go down this route like everybody else :( I knew it was coming though, I guess commercial success for her stuff now will make up for it.

This basically. It's obviously a compromise between her and her record label, the label winning out in the end. I just hope the album isn't full of that sort of thing and a million different collabs. That said I like Get It Started quite a lot, I'd like to see her do a part II acoustic/rock version on her album.
July 1, 201213 yr Author While I didn't want her to go down the same route as everyone else at the moment, I actually think this sounds pretty good. The lyrics seem like they have the potential to not just be about filling up drinks and getting on the floor and I think her voice sounds good. I'm holding out hope for it. I still think Get It Started is terrible though. That's probably the first Shakira song that I have zero interest in.
July 1, 201213 yr That's probably the first Shakira song that I have zero interest in. Give It Up To Me?
July 1, 201213 yr Author Give It Up To Me? I love Give it up to me! But then, I love timbaland ad lil Wayne. I was completely on board with shakira going with a more urban leaning sound because it can encompass so many interesting sounds and beats. However, the current dance music just creates pretty much identical songs.
July 1, 201213 yr Well. Fair enough but there was nothing fresh about that song for my money. Typical Timbaland trash!
July 2, 201213 yr Is this really the single?? It's soo depressing to see her trying to ride the coattails of this trend. Especially since it's on its way out. :(
July 4, 201213 yr Author You can hear a longer preview here: lXFnWnaEilk I'm surprised everyone is so negative about this. I think the clips so far sound pretty good and really, what did everyone expect Shakira to release? It's the same reaction every time she releases something new. Everyone was appalled when she released a reggaeton song. Then everyone was appalled that she used a rapper on Hips Don't Lie. Then everyone was appalled she went all slutty for She Wolf.
July 4, 201213 yr But this sounds awful. I'm all for slutty Shakira when the song is as bonkers as She Wolf. Edited July 4, 201213 yr by ▲▲▲
July 4, 201213 yr Author I'm thinking this isn't going to be as pedestrian as people are assuming. The new clip makes it sound likes it's got kuduro elements in...which makes sense with the video being filmed in Lisbon.
July 7, 201213 yr Its difficult to make out the new track due to the poor quality sound and shortness of the clip.
December 20, 201212 yr I was there when she was shooting the video in a street in Lisbon. A man who has standing right next to me shouted: "Shakira, mañana va a ganar España!" ("Shakira, tomorrow (Euro 2012 final) Spain will win!") and she looked towards him, and therefore towards me as well. Between takes, she wrapped herself around a huge shawl because the night was quite chilly. I liked the song from what I heard, can't wait for the release
