July 16, 201213 yr 'Call The Shots' seemed to be the moment when everyone sat up and took notice of Girls Aloud, and they became a bit 'cooler' to like outside of the young girls and gays. At the time I didn't see what was so special about it, but I definitely noticed a change in attitude towards them when it became a hit and it has lasted very well so far.

This absolute STOMPER of a tune was #1 for four weeks in February 2003 (nine years ago! :o). The song itself is my absolute favourite song ever and t.A.T.u are probably in my top ten acts of all time. I'm VERY pleased to see it come in the top 5, I knew it would do pretty well, but I didn't expect 5th for them. Edited July 16, 201213 yr by Casey__
July 16, 201213 yr That's about the right position for Up, its quite good and one of their better tracks, but I don't think they deserve to be crowned the top girl group song when their sound has been done a lot better before imo... Dammit, Tatu :( that synth solo  Edited July 16, 201213 yr by C.W
July 16, 201213 yr Ah, there goes the best song of the countdown. :( What an incredible pop masterpiece.
July 16, 201213 yr Oh, was hoping ATTSS could get top 3 but oh well :( Simply incredible stuff, amazingly produced and just pop perfection.

Yeah, I do pretty agree with this. It seems to be quite a popular track with people I know that wouldn't usually be a fan of Girls Aloud. They have some much stronger songs in their back catalogue though :(
July 16, 201213 yr Production wise I think 'Not Gonna Get Us' is even better. 'All the Things She Said'' has an edge over the other though for sentimental reasons.
July 16, 201213 yr tATu aww, are they still around? All The Things She Said is a pop masterpiece. I also ADORE Not Gonna Get Us
July 16, 201213 yr No, t.A.T.u. split, much to my dismay :(. Although at least they can't ruin the string of fantastic albums. Lena has a song called 'Never Forget You' which has a really sweet video. And Yulia.. well she's had plastic surgery.
July 16, 201213 yr Author 04 All Saints 'Pure Shores' 388 points C_vEJpgRhZQ 20/36 votes /// Highest voters: JakeWild, 152chris & Shoat (30 points); Triangles (29 points); Casey__ (28 points) SHOCKKKKERRR!! 'Pure Shores' finishes at #4. It was predicted by quite a few of you to at least be top two, if not win the whole thing. However, it's not even made it to the top three and is WAY off the scores from the two songs at #1 and #2. This is probably the biggest shock in the countdown for me, in the nomination round this song was way ahead of pretty much every other song, but its fanz obviously haven't shown up for the voting stage. :( An absolute beautiful song, amazingly produced and sounds just as incredible as it did when it was released in 2000. Honestly shocked it's 'only' 4th. The film 'The Beach', for which is was on the soundtrack on, is also pretty amazing, I watched it a couple of weeks ago! So this leaves two Girls Aloud songs and a Spice Girls song in the final three! Edited July 16, 201213 yr by Casey__

Lena has a song called 'Never Forget You' which has a really sweet video. And Yulia.. well she's had plastic surgery. I'm gutted they've split. 200 km/h is one of my favourite albums, I pretty much adore every song on that album. All their other albums are fantastic too, 'Fly On The Wall' is a tuneee. Yulia looks horrific now!
July 16, 201213 yr I don't get the hype for 'Pure Shores' personally I prefer at least 4/5 All Saints singles better than it.
July 16, 201213 yr It's easy to forget that William Orbit was once an incredible pop producer! Black Coffee and Pure Shores are so beyond anything else here.
July 16, 201213 yr The Loving Kind is SERIOUSLY LUSH. That production, those longing vocals...just beautiful. EDIT: It's so gorgeous I'm actually LOOKING FORWARD to listening to it on the way home now. Mmm. What a GUILTY TREAT of a song. Gezza in shock TOTAL AGREEMENT with Tirren- Mark this Buzzjack! :D
July 16, 201213 yr Viva Forever needs to win now, as much as Girls Aloud are my favourite pop act of All time, Viva Forever is the best song remaining!
July 16, 201213 yr Author 03 Girls Aloud 'Biology' 393 points bBPtP4t2J1k 21/36 votes /// Highest voters: Hayzayy & GirlOverboard (30 points); Liam (29 points); THEO. (27 points) 'Biology' somehow beats two of the best pop songs in existence to place at #3. I knew this would do well, and was certainly expecting a top ten finish for it, but THIRD, really?! I do like that it's pretty much made up of about four different songs mashed together, but I only really like one section. 'Biology' which got to #4 in the UK charts is the only song in the top five that didn't make it to #1 officially. ALSO. VEVO HATE NICOLA :( She's been cropped out of pretty much the WHOLE video. SO, SPICE GIRLS 'VIVA FOREVER' VS. GIRLS ALOUD 'SOUND OF THE UNDERGROUND'? WHO'S YOUR MONEY ON? One point separates the two songs. :o
July 16, 201213 yr Biology is simply incredible. I can't even, totes amaze is not enough! The structure, the instrumental, everything  Flawless. Sound Of THe Underground to win now please, although it's only 4th or 5th in my GA ranking. ALso love Viva Forever though so a fab winner anyhoo!
July 16, 201213 yr THE NICOLA SHADE pretty good top 2 considering! sound of the underground to win though, viva forever only gets me with nostalgia
July 16, 201213 yr Well out of the two then Spice Girls for me- Never a fan of SOTU, it's ok but no great shakes and not really representative of their work.
