Posted July 10, 201213 yr quE6Cq4Q2bs Will it finally be the time when an Asian (South Korean in this case) girl group has a huge hit in the US? :o 300k+ views in less than a day! This is really catchy :( Edited July 10, 201213 yr by Pavel
July 10, 201213 yr Really like it! I prefer Like This and it doesn't need Akon but it's solid. Nobody got to something like #76, I see no reason why this can't be big with a bit of a push.
July 10, 201213 yr Out of all people, it is Pavel who starts a topic on this  It's really catchy. Refer it to The DJ Is Mine which was quite a mess IMO. It's very generic pop though... Edited July 10, 201213 yr by Oricon
July 11, 201213 yr I think it's pretty good, the K-pop fandom are rather negative about it, but I think it mixes the catchiness and great vocals of their K-pop sound with a more commercial US-centric beat. 867k views now! Really hoep that it goes for radio ads in the US soon, it deserves to outpeak Nobody (which was great) but this is so NOW.
July 11, 201213 yr Author I find negative reaction weird because usually k-pop is WAY more generic and cheesy than this song. I guess they needed something less OTT to make it worldwide (I'm talking like they already HAVE made it worldwide :D ). You can't blame them for wanting to be big. It doesn't mean the whole genre will disappear. Edited July 11, 201213 yr by Pavel
July 11, 201213 yr Agreed completely. If K-pop/Korean artists are going to be a force in the world of music they need to grow and change. Lyrics excepted, I can't see what's un-K-pop about this.

It doesn't mean the whole genre will disappear. This song is much more generic than the usual K-Pop tunes for me. This song is no different from any typical americanised pop song and the addition of Akon to the songs is completely unnecessary. I find this song a bit underwhelming now. I guess I do fit in the category of "K-Pop fandom". I guess K-Pop artists really do want to break it worldwide (and when I mean worldwide, I mean Western Europe and North America) as the genre already dominates Asia. Such a shame that the acts have to change their original sound just to appeal to the western audience though. :( Edited July 11, 201213 yr by Oricon
