At least Team GB's performance means there's likely to be a LOT more resistance to cutting sports budgets now.

Yeah, well, there was a lot of opposition to the tripling of tuition fees as well though..... And the sales of the sports fields is a done deal, sadly....

Ca-Moron has been busying himself blaming the teachers for the "necessity" to scrap the targets though, how typical.... -_-

This is actually quite scary:

Amid continuing debate over the Olympic legacy, it was revealed that the Department for Education is no longer forcing state schools to provide 120 minutes of PE and sport.

The Coalition insisted that head teachers should be given the freedom to organise physical activity themselves instead of following a “bureaucratic system”.

It was also feared that many schools were shunning competitive sport and favouring disciplines such as yoga and circus skills to hit targets imposed by the previous Labour government.

But the move will raise fears that some children may not be getting access to the necessary amount of exercise every week.

The disclosure comes just days after Jeremy Hunt, the Culture Secretary, admitted that school sports provision was still too patchy.

No-one's being mean as such. He has posted well in the past (I seem to remember some funny posts a long, long time ago - but maybe it was someone else). He just seems a bit old before his time. There's an excuse for me being boring - I'm in my 90's ... but Charlie's only about 20 at most and he posts like a 70 year old! He's just a bit serious for one so young!

It probably was me, I don't react well to ignorance.

The argument about selling off school playing fields has got rather silly. The number of playing fields flogged off after the last government was around 200. The number sold under this government is just over 20 in two years. However, most of them involved schools which had been closed. The real scandal is that 10,000 school playing fields were sold under the last Tory government. That is when the damage was done and Cameron and co should hang their heads in shame.

I think the plain fact is we just can't stand each other! You've done nothing but be nasty to me (you're first response to a post I made had the 'F' word in it) so I reciprocate with like. Put me on ignore ... I shall be doing so with you old man!

But before I do so - may I say how bloody arrogant and boastful you are! Truly your only two redeeming features at least they make you slightly intriguing to the untrained eye.

You know there's a rate on in the lounge Kath if you want to voice your feelings on Charlie or anybody else. And you can see what I've got to say about you whilst you're at it :D

Apologies to you Grim. Problem's already sorted from my end though so you won't see any more replies from me to Charlie.

Actually ... I've had a change of heart - I want to apologise to Charlie as well ... I think I bit his head off more than I intended to ... although I don't think he's arsed either way! Life's too short and I've a shit-load of ironing to do!
