So so happy to see my team Derby 3-0 up at half time against Scunthorpe!! I hope we can keep it up for the 2nd half! :cheer:

The CoC Cup HA

York got knocked out at the weekend so I have no interest in this until the 3rd round.

Derby have managed to surrender a 3-0 and 4-1 lead and it finished 5-5! Extra time here we come...
5 conceded from 7 shots on target, all 5 goals assisted from one player and at least three from free-kicks and corners, not the most ominous of displays!
Gutted I never put my usual over 3 goals coupon on, it's been a goals galore all over today!

Only Derby could manage that, lost 7-6 on penalties! :snif:
Peterborough won 4-0, solid start to the season. Didn't go though, too expensive for a pointless cup game that will eventually not mean anything when we just get knocked out away to another Championship club in the next round
utterly appalling game for bristol city. we made gillingham look like arsenal until 10 minutes from time. there was no pace up frot, no solidity in the backline and to top it all the players didnt even look that bothered at the end. really worried for the start of the season now, especially if adomah leaves. To even stasnd a chance of staying up we could do with lita, baldock and either mcmanus or amougou. lansdown give the football club some money instead of using it for the rugby club. time to pull your chequebook out mr lansdown

Carlisle have made it through, pity it isn't being played at Ipswich. Could have gone down there.

Only just realised the next round had been drawn. As expected Posh are away in round 2 and will go out  Pointless.

Confident, then?

We've got Morecambe at home, on paper a straightforward enough draw but then we did get beaten at home by Notts County in the FA Cup a couple of seasons back, so who knows. I would say O'Neill will probably give the fringe players a go but our starting XI is bad enough without resting people

Looked bloody strong - although also looked like a 2-7-1 formation!

Not a bad performance, Allardyce rested a lot of players and a couple of the youngsters shone. Jordan Spence finally looks like he might amount to something and Diarra is class. Having Maiga as a third attacking option with Cole and Vaz Te helps as well.
Watching our game last night it's so easy to see how Wigan have won so many games since adopting the wing-back system. The space they create and the way they move the ball about is incredible, even their second string. It's so hard to play against and is like playing against 12-13 men all the time, very impressed.

Everton 5 Leyton Orient 0

I stand by my prediction before the season started that Everton should hopefully finish top 6, fantastic start to the season for them!

3rd round draw. What a big tie for Carlisle. :w00t:

Man Utd v Newcastle

Man City v Aston Villa

MK Dons v Sunderland

West Brom v Liverpool

Crawley v Swansea

QPR v Reading

Norwich v Doncaster

Bradford v Burton

Preston v Middlesbrough

Arsenal v Coventry

Southampton v Sheff Wed

Chelsea v Wolves

Carlisle v Tottenham

Swindon v Burnley

West Ham v Wigan

Leeds v Everton

Aye, wasn't a bad lineup all things considered.

Comfortable win in the end, McClean and Johnson looked absolutely immense (albeit against lower league opposition), Fletcher didn't look match fit but that'll come when he starts getting games consistently.

Pleased to be in the next round, got a tricky tie away at MK Dons to come. Really hope we can go on a decent run in at least one of the cups this season.

Ok so Taylor did go to Ipswich in the end then  Interested to see how he does considering all summer we've been hearing how the likes of Fulham/West Brom wanted him when they clearly didn't =D

EDIT - Wrong topic, oh wellz.
