August 20, 201212 yr Author Thanks Martin! Glad to see you're liking Raver, I wouldn't go quite that far (To The End is much much better for a start) but it's a great pop tune. I've also been a BIG Kyla fan since 2010 or whatever so it's great to finally have the album. It's just a shame they've watered down Heavy Stone and Been Better so much.
August 20, 201212 yr HI JOHN. Kate all up in here *.* And actually higher than in my chart! Flop lifelong obsessive. I did listen to the SaintSaviour album - rather good, though it obviously needs time to really settle in and grow which I might want to give it. Yet to get around to Passion Pit - other albums always just steal my attention! Not really in love with 'Love Sea' :( Fun as always but they're just not on fire for me this campaign.
August 20, 201212 yr Author Even as someone coming into it BLIND, I know RUTH is one of Kate's Magnum Opii. I've actually been totally loving Hounds of Love this week in general (hence it charting in the album chart) and it feels like a good time to finally take the plunge and do a full Kate runthrough. Any CHOIX CUTS? I'm only really familiar with the GH, HoL and TKI. Given we already knew half of it, it fell into place for me quite readily. Liberty has been the only thing that I've grown to love more with time, it's really quite special. Passion Pit is wonderful too, GET ON IT BITCH. Not am I, Vacation was piss weak (imo) and I never bothered with even repeat listens, but this has at least grabbed my attention for now. It's such a shame they've lost their way after 2 relatively brilliant albums.
August 20, 201212 yr The Dreaming NEEDS to be your next port-of-call, it runs neck-and-neck with HoL as her magnum opus. By GH you mean The Whole Story, yes? (Experiment IV :heart:) After that it's really your own journey to take, though I'm awfully fond of the first half of The Red Shoes, and Never for Ever is super too, though quality-wise it really is a run-up to The Dreaming and HoL. Oh, there really is NOTHING like discovering Kate, so much pleasure lies ahead of you!
August 20, 201212 yr Author *noted* Yeah, The Whole Story is the one (does she more than one?). I do love me a bit of Experiment IV too, especially the 12" mix. I've heard The Red Shoes has awfully dated production? I did give Directors Cut a go and I know that's like half of that album and I did find it a teensy bit melody free. That's pretty much a MUST.

Nothing ground breaking, but if good old big choruses and sing alongness is your bag then it WORKS.
