Precisely, Thomas Di Leva ended a semi this year - he didn't even make it through to AC. Running orders might speak volumes for producers' preference, but doesn't speak for the general public.

I think there's a little more to it than just producer preference - although you're broadly right. In the case of di Leva, I doubt the producers would've liked to see him go much further, but his popularity in Sweden meant that it would have been very difficult to justify not putting him on last. Generally though you're right, if you've got a (relative) nobody like Janet Leon getting a plum spot like that it's just a big case that the producers want them to go far. Same with Love Generation in 2011 (but not last year).

Which is why it's quite telling when the likes of Caroline af Ugglas get lumped in random spots...although I'm a little surprised that Amanda Fondell's not got herself a plum spot.

EXCUSE ME

I was actually the first Sean Banan fan around here!

Okay, AC changed a bit.

Now the running order will be revealed right after the 4th Semi.

Everyone will perform after which 5 will advance to the next round where the other contestant gets eliminated. Then the 1st placed song will compete against the 4th placed song, plus 2nd vs 3rd.

I really don't like that. If you're going to HAVE a duels concept the way we've got now is FAR MORE FUN. Plus, that system would've probably seen a Sean Banan AC victory last year.

You might as well say you're a fan of GENOCIDE!

Sean Banan is absolutely dire. Swedish House Wives is such an amazing band name, I somehow didn't even realise the Swedish House Mafia parody connection until now!

OMG I got it only now too. AMAZING

Well, yes, I do agree with you - I'm speaking on a very basic level to think it was just down to producer preference. I suppose popularity is probably the other half of the factor, like you say, or something that you're specifically waiting for on an entertainment level (Mirakel). But, yeah, Janet is a perfect example of it just being producer preference - and I actually think Loreen was last year. Sure, she'd done well with My Heart Is Refusing Me, but she was hardly overwhelmingly popular.

It surprises me, like I say, after David Lindgren doing well last year that he's not closing it like Ulrik is - but I suppose opening the 2013 show after winning last year is quite something?

My Heart Is Refusing Me was the biggest hit of MF 2011! Closing heat 1 was pretty much right for her standing I'd say.

I don't know how to interpret David's slot. Opening heat 1 should notionally be a pretty good slot but it's traditionally been an absolute graveyard.

From MF's twitter

"We'll publish the lyrics on wednesday, 60 sec rehereseal-clips on thursday and 2.30 min of songs on saturday."

HURRA.

What's the point of just leaving out 30 seconds? :(

To stop people making mp3 rips of the whole songs I'd guess.

So, does that mean we won't get full songs of qualifiers until after Semi 4? :(

Possibly. They've always been a bit funny with the qualifiers being available to listen to before all the entries have been performed.

What a nightmare! That might have been 3/4 less weeks 'Euphoria' could've had at #01 in your chart last year! :kink:

I may not have been able to survive that long! :kink:

I'll quite happily chart a song that I only have a 90% MP3 of as long as I've heard the full version at some point. We'll still get rips of the full live versions!
