Posted August 30, 201212 yr http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9f/Catpowersun.jpg Chan Marshall (aka Cat Power) will release Sun on 3 September 2012 in UK and a day later in USA (earlier in Japan and Ireland). Sun is her first album of all-original material since 2006's The Greatest. The album already started to receive excellent reviews from critics. Someone described the album as "[going in] yet another direction. A lot more drive, a lot more electronics, drum machines, synths—it's very bold". Sun already is streamed online by various sites. I listened to it 4-5 times so far: it's excellent! Track listing: 01. Cherokee 02. Sun 03. Ruin 04. 3,6,9 05. Always on My Own 06. Real Life 07. Human Being 08. Manhattan 09. Silent Machine 10. Nothin' But Time 11. Peace and Love Bonus: 12. Fire (Digital bonus track) 13. Back in the Days (for Christopher Wallace) (iTunes pre-order bonus track) 14. King Rides By (2011 Version) (Japanese bonus track) More details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_(album) Edited August 30, 201212 yr by alin
September 14, 201212 yr This album is such a grower. I was initially disappointed as it followed the wonderful The Greatest (well, ignoring the covers album that I still can't get in to) but it keeps drawing me back to it and I'm loving it more with every listen. Probably a predictable choice for favourite track but 'Cherokee' really is marvelous.
