hehe hello! Its not that hard to find her older albums. They show up on amazon.co.uk under "used and new" from time to time, ebay and record fares. All of her past albums are deleted so you can only get them second hand now. "Girl" is a great album. Its a very mature and experimental in sound and years ahead of its time. It does not sound the least bit dated and if you listen to every track carefully...you will hear Kylie doing backing vocals on one of the songs! My favourite album track on "Girl" is "Am I dreaming" its such a euphoric dream trip and unlike nothing she has ever recorded before
I would probably buy Girl if it were cheap.

Despite the album being a financial failure it opend to rave reviews even from the new york times. It was brilliant that she released it because it is a defining moment in her carreer. Her first grown up album. She wasn't singing about love & kisses anymore. Plus she used producers like xenomania before they became common and did everyones music. She even used them before Kylie. The album is very experimental pop dance/trance even with a chill out side to it. I love the clear cover concept for the album also. My only critisim is her page 3 sort of image at the time. It was hard to take her seriously. But you can hardly blame her for sexing her image up after all the "ugly duckling" comments frown at her earlier in her carreer.

"Girl" should have been Dannii's breakthrough album. For a moment she looked set to eclipse with "All I Wanna do" as Kylie's singles were not selling well at the time. But despite "All I Wanna Do" being a big hit she could not attract a substanial fan base and the album flopped big time. Neon Nights is a more commerical sound but "Girl" was an emotional pop/dance album that experimented with different styles and despite there being only 11 tracks - 2 of which being pure filler it is a fab album. The remix's for the "Girl" period gave her allot of club cred to. The Trouser Enthusiasts mix's deffo boosted the sales of the singles. Which gave her some of her biggest single sales

Girl was a stepping stone onto Neon Nights. But I however listen to Girl more than I do Neon Nights, But if your looking for all poppy commerical songs I'd go for Neon Nights. Girl has the poppy singles then experimental album tracks that I guess are not for everyone.
