Posted September 21, 201212 yr "Top 1000 songs of all time" I have been working on this for a couple of years now. I have literally gone through every single song that has ever entered the top 75 and worked out its performance based on a point system. For example - Number 1 = 75 points Number 75 = 1 point So over the next month or so I will be counting down the best performing song EVER in the UK chart. I know its kinda been done in the past, but not to this level. I know some people may know what songs may come top but dont spoil it for other please. Yes im very much aware that songs from the early 2000s will not be represented well in this chart. And that earlier tracks from the 50s and 60s will do well, and so will new tracks because of how the singles chart has changed over the years. Just before people start to ask. If some of the songs have the same amount of points, the song with the most weeks on the chart goes first. If it is still a draw on weeks, then I will based on the amount of weeks in the top 10, then then highest position. I know a lot of people will not be happy that it is a top 1000 but, tough lol. Ive been working on this for ages and I want to be a bit self indulgent with it lol. I will be adding my own commentary on the songs and the chart and hopefully you guys will do to. (Only got a list of 2002-present though and even that's taken an insanely long time, I can't imagine how much time it must have taken to do the whole 50 years before that. Oh and also ALL THE ERRORS - I randomly noticed just the other day that Robbie Williams' 'Feel' was listed twice for some reason and who knows how many more of those there are?) None taken, its been very geeky and quite sad of me to do it in the first place lol. Some of the songs were a bit hard when it came down to re-issues, especially when its the same song but a bit different, like a newer dance version of the same song, but we shall see how it goes I suppose.
September 21, 201212 yr Author Dannyboy, where is your Airplay Chart Top 1000?? I miss it.. Im going to make it a monthly thing just for the simple fact of the lack of interest when it was done weekly.

Regarding re-issues/remixes I basically only count them as a separate chart entry if the artist credit changes. Using a couple of Utah Saints songs as examples, 'Something Good' and its '08 remix I would combine as both were just credited to 'Utah Saints', but the new version of 'What Can You Do For Me' from earlier this year I'd count as a separate entry as the artist credit changed to 'Utah Saints vs. Drumsound & Bassline Smith'.
