This is one of those songs that as a kid I knew but had no idea why, I blame my parents  . Im not sure if I like it because its catchy or because its been ingrained into my head since I was young.

Love this song. I actually think its better than the original. I expected it to have a better chart run to be honest.

Such a great song from probably the most unlikely popstars. I didnt even mind it when Take That did their version.

Love "How Deep Is You Love", one of my favourite love songs of all time.

I didnt even realise this did so well or was even a song in the charts until this countdown. When I checked it out on youtube, I only remembered it being that song from the advert

Love this song but will she be able to come back with anything else worthwhile ? somehow I doubt it. I think I still prefer her 2nd single though.

What did you think of the Take That version ?

Although, I like Take That I thought it was an unnecessary cover and a bit bland.

Well that requires me to comment. :D

Excellent to see Alexis just about scrape in, and great idea for a countdown, one that I'll follow with interest. I guess at this point most slightly long lasting top 5 hits (and the likes of Foster The People/Hey Soul Sister which lasted an age lower down) will make it.

This is a silly question but was Roy Orbison blind, he is always wearing those black glasses. I like this song and I always loved the tone of his voice.

No he wasn't - here's a bit from his Wiki page:

After leaving his thick eyeglasses on an airplane in 1962 or 1963, Orbison was forced to wear his prescription sunglasses on stage and found that he preferred them.

Thanks for doing this - remember all those oldies first time round

Totally agree. You would have thought that their final song would have been original one instead of being lazy and doing a cover.

Its quite suprising how many 10-20 are actually in the countdown to

One of many songs by Elvis on this countdown. I consider myself a big casual fan of Elvis and I must admit I have never heard this song before. I dont understand why it did so well either, very average in my opinion.

Now this to me is classic 90s dance. There have been a few remixes over the 90s which to add to the amazingness of this track.

I Believe I Can Fly gets a lot of undeserved hate. :(

Way Down did well because it was the most recent Elvis song that was released around the time of his death. :P

That makes more sence because its not really a song that people would consider an Elvis classic as far as im aware.

And I dont get the hate for I believe I can fly either.
