September 28, 201212 yr Yes, its official, Rihanna has pushed Diamonds forward and now it will go head to head with 1D for number 1!! Finally, an extremely interesting chart battle!! What about Ellie Goulding! I see a shock on the cards, i think Rihanna will beat 1D and get #1. Nothing would please me more than seeing OD beaten, but I'd prefer Ellie to do it (with or without the use of a baseball bat).
September 28, 201212 yr Ellie Goulding's previous single reached #49.... She's a bit in a different league than Rihanna and 1D
September 28, 201212 yr Sorry but as much as I love Ellie and her new song she's not got a cat in hell's chance of getting to #1 next week. One Direction should get it, their massive amounts of pre-orders will get it there easily and Rihanna will settle for #2, quite like when Only Girl debuted at #2 behind Cheryl but then moved up the next week. Diamonds will do the same but I don't think it will be as big as Only Girl and We Found Love which is a shame because it's actually a better song Edited September 28, 201212 yr by justinthomas92

Are you kidding us? It's one of her worst singles.
September 28, 201212 yr It's like a Home Bargains Lana Del Ray, but I think it's better than her last few songs, top 3 as 1D will be number one.
September 28, 201212 yr Thank God 1D will block this piece of shit from the top spot. Neither are great songs when compared to both their previous lead singles but at least 1D's is enjoyable. I don't see this climbing to the top either - I think this'll do a Born This Way and peak first week then drop.
September 28, 201212 yr What is amusing about these comments is people only looking at next week. How about the "chart battle" between Rihanna & One Direction in a fortnight? This is why Rihanna has three million sellers to her name. 1D will be lucky to have 1 million seller to their name. Yes, 1D will be no. 1 - they'll probably sell enough on Sunday alone to clinch the no. 1 spot whilst Rihanna's track is brand new without the aid of pre-orders. In a week's time, Rihanna will most likely be #1 on iTunes whilst 1D will be on their way down iTunes. They'll be no. 1 officially but come week 2 they will have Leona & SHM to contend with. Maybe Adele as her Bond track is getting released soon. The only thing that will save their sales collapsing is a performance on the first live show of X Factor which is likely to happen anyways.
September 28, 201212 yr Diamonds are better than "Only Girl and "We Found Love"?????? Are you kidding us? It's one of her worst singles. I'm entitled to my own opinion thank you.
September 28, 201212 yr I wouldn't rule it out turning out to be her best single. It some how feels like she's maturing as an artist.
September 29, 201212 yr I'm predicting top3. Don't think this will be as big as her usual first singles. Its a different pace and won't be as popular but I might be wrong.
September 29, 201212 yr I am not sure if it will hit #1, because 1D will beat her this week and I can see Swedish House Mafia doing the same the week after and I am not sure if the sales will be big enough after that to go #1. With Adele release looming as well, I have a feeling it will be one of those songs that just keeps on getting stopped from going #1, although with an X Factor performance and the music video coming out, possibly about the same kind of time, I suppose it still has a good chance. September 29, 201212 yr Why are people so sure this song is going to be popular with the public? Its performance on US/AUS iTunes certainly doesn't suggest so.
September 29, 201212 yr Why are people so sure this song is going to be popular with the public? Its performance on US/AUS iTunes certainly doesn't suggest so. It's doing about as well in the USA as We Found Love did in its first week and we all know how that went in the UK. Rihanna is much bigger as an artist here while she's more about her songs in the USA (see also how she has 3 #1 albums here and none in the USA).
