183. Britney Spears // Born To Make You Happy // January 2000

Right back to the beggining of the decade now with what was the second UK #1 for Britney, though it was actually her 4th consecutive #1 on my chart and the only song on this rundown that was on my chart in the 1990's. It charted at #23 on my final chart of that decade

182. Fall Out Boy // Dance, Dance // March 2006

Ah, Year 9 memories  Last time in my life I was a stupid little kid without a care in the world. Most people seem to hate them but I was quite fond of old Fall Out Boy

181. Vanessa Amorosi // Absolutely Everybody // October 2000

So, picture a soon to be nine year old me watching the Closing Ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics and (apparently; I can't actually remember doing this) dancing around the room with my brother and sister like maniacs because we loved this song so much. I hadn't heard it for years until it popped up in Gezza's current thread a few weeks ago, I've listened to it again and I'm back in love

Here's that Olympic performance

180. The Black Eyed Peas // Don't Phunk With My Heart // May 2005

I was a serious BEP loon back in 2005 so was very, very excited about this song and it didn't dissapoint. They went down hill with their next two albums and with the exceptions of Meet Me Halfway and Just Can't Get Enough, I've pretty much hated everything they've done the past few years. A shame as they were once so good

179. Rihanna // Unfaithul // July 2006

I know many hate this but I really liked it at the time. First appearance of many for Rihanna in this chart; her 00's output is a lot stronger than her 2010's output in my opinion

178. The Script // Breakeven // January 2009

The Script were deffinately my favourite band on the late 00's, their debut album being my most played on Itunes during that time anyway. Breakeven only managed a weekly peak of #7 on my personal chart but between December 2008 and November 2009 was always in the Top 40 somewhere

177. Calvin Goldspink // Don't Fail Me //September 2009

How I stumbled across this masterpiece is still simply quite beyond me but I'm very glad as it's fantastic. I really thought it was going to be massive when I first heard it but three years later and nothing means I seem to be one of the only people who know this hidden treasure. For anyone who recognizes the name, yes this is the boy from S Club Juniors.

176. Vanessa Hudgens // Say OK // April 2007

There's really not many Disney songs I like but there is something about this. My girlfriend, Jen, was a big fan of this song when it came out and deemed it "our song" even though I wasn't sold on it at all at the time. Then it grew on me and spent 14 weeks in my Top 20.

I love this woman  So underrated, although she does actually have three million selling albums but she deffinately should be bigger than she is.

174. Fall Out Boy // Thanks For the Memories // May 2007

Random but this song always reminds me of the Abdication Crisis of 1936. Why? We were studying it in History when I was really into this song and found the lyrics weirdly appropriate for the situation. Moving on....

173. U2 // Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own // August 2007

The reason this says August 2007 is because that was when I finally began loving this song, which managed at peak of #23 when it was actually released. The reason? My father died of cancer in August 2007 and U2 were one of his favourite bands, whilst looking through his records I re-discovered this and the track really helped me through an absoloutely hellish period of my life. Longing for a way to express my relationship with my dad I found the lyrics to this song perfect

172. Sugababes // About You Now // October 2007

It's always been Girls Aloud for me but I can't deny the Sugababes have made some killer tunes in their time. This one spent 6 weeks in the Top 10 of my personal chart and reached a peak of #3

171. Girls Aloud // Biology // November 2005

"Biology" certainly is a turning point in the career of Girls Aloud; the moment they were seen as something more than a poppy silly girlband and, in my opinion, this is their first true masterpiece. It isn't my favourite from them by a long shot but it deffinately paved the way for the critical acclaim they would garner from here on in

170. Atomic Kitten // It's OK // June 2002

It's deffinately been the day of the girlbands in this countdown today. The Kittens never got the acclaim that Sugababes and Girls Aloud got and whilst it's true they don't appear as much as the former two on my countdown, they were capable of belting out a good tune or two (well three as that's the amount of times they pop up in the Top 200)

169. Girls Aloud // Life Got Cold // August 2003

Yet more Girls Aloud! Definitely my favourite group of the 00's by far, this was their third single and first to miss the Top 2 in the UK Charts. In 'Justin land' however this spent 5 weeks at #2 (behind a song that will be appearing much, much later). I don't even care if it's a Wonderwall rip-off, this song is brilliant

168. Anastacia // One Day in Your Life // May 2002

Most likely an unpopular opinion but this is my favourite Anastacia track. I did love Anastacia however she only places two songs on this countdown, however I would estimate about 4 songs are placed between 201-220

167. Alistair Griffin // Bring It On // January 2004

Before "X Factor" there was "Fame Academy" which brought us the likes of Lemar, Alex Parks, Sinead Quinn and this guy who released this as his debut single in late 2003. Now, the song doesn't impress me much (As Shania Twain would say) but at the time of release I was being horribly bullied at school and the lyrics and message of the song helped me through it

166. Green Day // Holiday // March 2005

So, it's August 2004, I'm 12 years old and to be honest I'm growing quite bored of music. Having pretty much been obsessed with three artist all year (Girls Aloud, Usher and Anastacia) and played all their albums and singles endlessly I needed something new and exciting to get into. Que Green Day; on holiday in the Isle of Skye my cousins and I are driving to our cottage when Radio One (somehow we managed to get radio signal) play a song by a band called Green Day called 'American Idiot' and I'm immediately hooked. I then by all their previous albums and become completely obsessed and save up for 5 weeks to buy the American Idiot album. 'Holiday' is the first of all the singles from that album (my 3rd favourite of the decade) to make this chart

165. Damien Rice // Cannonball // December 2003

Funny this has come up today, seen as though earlier I was on a bus behind two silly 13 year olds who were saying how amazing Little Mix were at song writing because of this song. I know, I nearly lost it too. If this was my mum's chart then this and 'Blowers Daughter' would make the Top 2 but alas Cannonball is #165 and Blower's Daughter doesn't quite make the cut

164. Hilary Duff // Come Clean // May 2004

I had such a crush on Hilary Duff (rhyme) back in the day, probably the reason this is on here to be honest. Well, that, and the fact that for Disney Pop this isn't half bad
