Before anyone starts with the only '93k for Mumford & Sons'?

54% does NOT mean 54% of their sales. If it did, we wouldn't need a building sales chart as we'd be able to work out what the total was :lol:

I think (don't quote me) 54% relates to the percentage of retailers on the panel who have reported their sales or percentage of the week's sales (or a combination of both), though the retailers one looks more likely (again, don't quote me). I know it has something to do with a reporting panel of retailers.

It is repeat, NOT 54% of Mumford's total. They are reportedly on for an opening of 600k+.

While I realise the 54% is (probably) the percentage of retailers counted - it still seems a bit crazy that M&S have to get 510k from the remaining 46%!
I think they're getting an unusually high proportion of sales from downloads and downloads are usually the last to be added.

Well, it makes a huge difference if say Amazon, iTunes, Target etc aren't included in that percentage.

I wonder if P!nk could finish at #2, that would be great to keep 2 new entries from the 2nd spot :lol:
From the little I've seen of these charts it seems to work in the opposite way to our midweeks in that new releases tend to gain more of an advantage with more sales coming in, so I'd expect both No Doubt and Green Day to stay ahead of P!nk. A little surprised to see the first two in that order but either way it's going to be very strong sales if they're selling anything close to half of the supposed 600k M&S are.

Mumfords in at #1 and back up to #10 with 'Sigh No More', just like in the UK! :D Of course the latter could change with the proper Billboard figures, hopefully they'll stay above 600k with 'Babel' (preferably increasing with the Billboard sales).
140k is weak but not disastrous, should go Gold at least. Same story as over here really.

No Doubt! No 1 curr about Green Day (always presumed they were a lot bigger than 140k).

I was preparing myself for 60-80k.

I think they're getting an unusually high proportion of sales from downloads and downloads are usually the last to be added.

That makes sense;

Second Largest Digital Sales Week for an Album: With 420,000 downloads sold, "Babel" scores the second-biggest frame for a digital album in history. Only Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which moved 662,000 downloads in its first week in 2011, sold more digital copies in a week. (A chunk of Gaga's figure was driven by Amazon MP3's sale pricing of the set at 99-cents for two days during release week.) In third place on the all-time biggest download weeks is Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV," which sold 362,000 digital copies its first week last year.

So huge for Mumford's. One Direction won't beat that debut but it would be great if two of the three biggest debuts (of the year) were British acts.

Cher Lloyd is predicted 30-35k which would be pretty good considering the size of 'Want U Back' (compared to say the sales of 'Kiss' off the back of 'Call Me Maybe').

35k would be amazing for cher lloyd considering about 8 songs have been on the internet for the past year and only 2 or 3 new songs on it... Hopefully top ten for cher
