Posted October 2, 201212 yr Hello everyone. I would love to know if there is a chart or a list with the longest streaks inside the official Top75 singles chart in the UK. Just realized that Rihanna has been inside the chart without leaving it any week since Week 37, 2009. which translates into 161 consecutive weeks inside the chart (Over 3 years now). If anyone has any info, Please be free to comment and discuss.
October 2, 201212 yr The record is/was Elvis Presley (Thanks to Everyhit.co.uk) Longest Continuous Run in The Top 40 by an Artist 135 consecutive weeks. July 1960 ("A Mess Of Blues") until Feb 1963 (when "Return To Sender" left the chart) - a total of 12 hits. Don't know about the Top 75 - but it is a bit arbitrary because the chart goes down to a Top 100 now, but I'd imagine Rihanna has the record.
October 2, 201212 yr Author Okay. Thanks for the info. I never saw a list about this. That's why I asked for it. I thought I missed it or something... But if it doesnt exist... then I apologize and move on.
October 4, 201212 yr Wouldn't the Beatles have been in the charts continuously from 1962 to at least 65?
October 8, 201212 yr Author Do you talk about anything apart from Rihanna?!?! I talk about what Im interested on knowing... Is there a problem with that?
October 9, 201212 yr The Beatles had 2 years on the chart from Oct 1962. It would probably have run into years if EP's had qualified for the charts in those days, but they had their own separate chart from 1963 to 1967-ish. The Beatles were on it from start almost to the very end, which hypothetically may have meant around 4 years or so in total. In those days poorer people couldnt afford albums so they got 4 track ep's in stead... Of course, like Rihanna is a consistent albums releaser for long chart runs, The Beatles were too, and charted every week from 1963 to 1971. Rihanna may well eventually overhaul a lot of Madonna's "top female" records, the rate she's going...and if she's still mega-successful 20 years from now (which is not out of the question), there's only likely to be 3 or 4 acts ahead of her in the all-timers. Sales-wise singles totals she's already in the all-time Top 10....
October 9, 201212 yr It isn't out of the question but too early to tell. She's been around only for 7 years and she's been lucky to be the superstar of era of great singles sales. Even if her stardom fades, I'm sure there'll be some kind of Rihanna revival at some point though

October 11, 201212 yr Does anyone know where the list is on Buzzjack? don't know if the list is on buzzjack (probably) but this is the BBC's official list of 60 best-selling singles acts. The EP chart facts hasn't been available since about 2000 I think, (Virgin's singles, albums & EP's charts), but it was mostly Beatles-dominated throughout it's run. Soon as they got rid of it, the Magical Mystery Tour Beatles EP got to number 2 in the singles chart...behind the Beatles Hello Goodbye at 1..:) TOP 25 BEST-SELLING UK SINGLES ACTS 1.
