I hope the Secret Service are on the ball and don't let anything happen to President Trump. Can't believe I'm even typing that! Only takes one nut with a gun.

Would probably be a Republican supporter as well!

I don't want to be predictable and say Elizabeth Warren but honestly at this point it's her or a fictional character played by Kevin Spacey.

I'm sure there are plenty of young left-leaning millionaires ready to throw their hat into the ring now that they see how easy it is to lie your way to the Presidency. Just promise the earth and be rich.

Policies not needed. Experience not needed. Facts not needed. Honesty not needed. Sanity not needed. Evidence of being a good person not needed. Evidence of being good at business not needed....

I'm only saying it cos it's true! Sorry, folks, the truth hurts. :(

You also need to have an opponent that's a liar and totally corrupt.

Trump believes guns make you safe, and the more guns you have the safer you are, so I'm sure he'll be fine. As I've said before nutters don't target other nutters, it's a sort of club rule.

Makes me and others wonder if the Establishment may do him in with the SS turning a blind eye but that would only let Pence in.

I am disgusted. I am so disappointed in my state and my country. I am honestly ashamed to even say that I'm from this place right now. How in the f***ing world did we let this happen???

Hillary to speak shortly according to Sky News but not say very much.

Half of America doesn't even deserve that.

Contrary to popular opinion the Establishment don't carry out assassinations, that's left to the good ol gun-totin American citizen. And please don't say "SS" when you are making references to anything to do with Trump, it'll just remind him of the one book he has managed to read all the way through (many times).

One thing I don't understand is... if this is so clearly a choice between right and wrong, good and evil then why are so many intelligent people making the 'wrong' choice? Objectively speaking, there'll have been plenty of intelligent people who voted for Trump yesterday (and Brexit here too) while some people who would be labelled 'morons' would have voted for Clinton. I find it hard to believe that 55 million people are all now racist, homophobes and sexist while half the population just aren't at all.

In England, I see people who are staunchly left feel intimidated by walking through poor neighbourhoods, or listening to black music or objectifying women through typical 'locker room talk'. Are these people just better because they didn't vote for Conservatives/Brexit or the American equivalent voted for Trump. It's natural for the younger generation to be idealistic, especially students like myself, but most people look out for number one and couldn't really give a toss about politics unless it affects them.

That's my struggle with situations like this... the bashing of people who simply have different agendas and priorities. Quite a few of Trump's policies are indeed horrendous and have miniscule merit in them, but that's not to say every single thing he stands for is wrong. And please don't hate, because I am pretty ambivalent when it comes to politics.

I'm just so sad this morning. I just can't see what the way back or what the resistance can be any more :(

He may have some policies with merit, certainly his speech, about unity, was fine. Albeit it just reminds me of May's induction speech which is to say I have no confidence that he will attempt to push together a divided country.

Why people get stick for supporting him, it's the fact that to accept his platform you have to accept that he is a racist, a sexist and a pretty reprehensible human. Many people voting for him would not have considered that, but they still have to accept it now they are left with the consequences. Because voting for Trump because of one platform that they liked, or because they disliked the Democrats, they were dissatisfied with the establishment or they were feeling down on their luck has now become a problem for everyone else, who will have to face the fact that a white man with no previous political experience and running on a racist platform has beaten an eminently qualified politician who would have been a milestone candidate. Because of her gender, yes, but she was more than qualified for the job anyway.
