Absolutely epic!

I was so gutted when the film ended, especially on that part and we have to wait another year for the next film. :(

I'd say I preferred it too the first film but they were both great! :)

Booked the tickets for tomorrow morning. SO CANNOT WAIT OMG

And BITCH PLEASE the first book is easily the best one of the series! SO MUCH ACTION

But on the plus side, LOVE Johanna and everything they've done with her, don't remember her lift scene being in the book but what an establishing character moment.

Best scene in the entire movie tbh.

I don't know what I wanted to cry at more,

Rue's family in District 11

or

Mags walking to her death

.

Incredible. I want my own Peeta.

Only nitpick about the changes is that

Plutarch didn't show Katniss his watch in the movie, right? Which I would've thought was quite significant. And I'm sure the book made a slightly bigger deal about the baby thing (when they were in the arena at least)

This was amazing and much better than the first part although I loved it as well!

I agree that Johanna was utterly fabulous and the lift scene was definitely in the book. Read it again, Eyes.

And the

baby thing... it was hardly in the book as well.

Really impressed at how precise they managed to follow the book. Except for

Snow's granddaughter thing which I can't see developing or having any impact whatsoever really. Maybe they are trying to show he's a human being as well making him a little bit likeable?! Weird because he's literally the main villain in the series!

This was amazing, I thought the first one was amazing but this was even better I thought! I would have liked more

arena action and Gale

but that's a nitpick. Liam Hemsworth is so co so hot

It's been over a year since I read them and that scene obviously didn't stand out in print, in complete contrast to the movie. I can remember the book quite well, it's just that was one of the few scenes in the film I didn't remember being from the book.

I'm surprised it didn't stand out! It's just as fabulous and memorable in the book as it is in the movie.

More arena action? I don't think there was anything left to cover actually. Even the morphling woman sacrificing herself! I was sure they would not show that for some reason.

But it makes more sense that they did now.

Hmm you're right, just I would have liked

less of the tour stuff, but I did thoroughly enjoy all that too, I'm just nitpicking

My book has 320 pages for the tour stuff and 150 for the actual arena action

so I think they did it well

:D

Saw this again just now. Still amazing <3

This time Effie's crying 'bye' scene moved me. Banks is doing such an amazing job portraying Effie.

Johanna is really becoming my favourite character.

ICONIC

Epic, genuinely one of my fave movies ever already, I loved the first and this was even better, didn't drag at all even though it was on over 2 hours and it was emotional and action packed. Love!

just seen it, a bit overlong but well-made and gripping, and as I know nothing about the book/s the ending left me going What! That's it!?

Katnip also needs a slap, she has a devoted man willing to sacrifice himself twice over (at least) for her, he's quite pleasing to the eye - she could at least have given him a pity shag! She's so picky!

Donald Sutherland is a great baddie. liked the plot twists at the end (sort of worked out was going on), and yes the tear-jerking scenes were the lifting of the mask for a moment of the bewigged afro-doll, and the electrifying moment in the forest. And the self-sacrifices.

Look forward to the next one...

I saw this last night - I must say I thought it was probably better than the first one, I really liked that too but I admired how this was more faithful to the book and how they managed to make it work.

I'm glad they covered the Jabberjay scene as I thought they may miss it out, even so, didn't quite have the real psychological horror that the books scene had, but still was great.

So yeah, great film. Just a shame I'll have to wait TWO YEARS to see it conclude properly :(

That scene was in one of the trailers though, wasn't it?

I haven't read the books so I'm fresh to the story with each new film. I absolutely loved Catching Fire. What a stunning movie.

Jennifer Lawrence is absolutely perfect. Even though I haven't read the books, I can't imagine anyone else playing this part as well as she does. Her nuances and the strength of character she brings are beautiful. She's also very funny. The facial expressions in the lift scene were amazing.

Also, I'm finding myself strangely attracted to Peeta now. There were several scenes in this movie that he looked rather handsome indeed, and his character has this warmth and hope towards Katniss that is making me really like him. Gale's hot, but I can't be bothered with him.

And although I couldn't decide if I loved/hated her in the first film, Effie had some magic moments in this. Liz Banks is so fantastic in this role. Her last scene in this movie is so touching.

Absolutely gutted we have to wait a total of nearly 2 years for the conclusion. To be honest, I think the year wait in between part 1 and 2 of Mockingjay is taking the piss, given that it's probably already finished.

Yeah, they are shooting both films back to back but I doubt it's already finished. Plus there's a thing called editing and montage. Be glad they aren't doing a 1.5 year wait like between The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.
