Deftones plan 'diverse' new album

Well it has got Giant Drag on it

Deftones have revealed details of the follow-up to their self-titled 2003 album.

'Saturday Night Wrist', released on October 30, was produced by Bob Ezrin, who has previously worked with Pink Floyd and Jane's Addiction.

The album also features some guests appearences, with Giant Drag's Annie Hardy providing an 'explicit monologue' for 'Pink Cellphone' and Serj Tankian from System Of A Down contributing to 'Mein'.

Singer Chino Moreno explained: "The heavy stuff is really, really heavy, really aggressive, and the stuff that's sweet and weird or whatever is sweeter and weirder. A lot of people will probably compare it to 'White Pony', because that was one of the most diverse records that we did. This one's probably the most diverse record we've done."

'Saturday Night Wrist' is released on October 30, and will be preceded by the single 'Hole In The Earth' on October 16.

So, it'll be "White Pony" part two then...? Not that that's a bad thing, "White Pony" is a truly magnificent album, I was a tad disappointed when they followed it up with the rather average (but still pretty good) self-titled album in '03, seemed like a step backwards rather than bravely forging ahead with further sonic experimentations....

Anyone pick up the album? It's great! Not sure why it isn't doing to well in the billboard charts though?!
