So Mylène is back with a new album, released on the third of December. The amazing lead single titled 'À l'ombre' just had its video released (I love it):

Everything is looking good bar the artwork, but that's par for the course with her. The album leaked a few days ago but I've not given it a shot yet, I'm not sure what I want from it.

Ooh pleasant surprise, hadn't heard anything since A'lombre came out (granted I didn't go looking for it!) but I thought it was out in 2013! I will download and listen tomorrow, should be good if Bleu Noir is anything to go by.

All she's been doing since the single came out is trying to save it by getting fans to buy it as many times as possible, really! It's certainly been no Oui Mais... Non on the charts :(

 

I'm kind of hoping it's pretty pure pop now, still kind of annoyed Oui Mais... Non was such a bait and switch for Bleu Noir.

I'm going to listen to this. I don't think she'll ever quite beat 'L'autre' for me but I listened to the single 'A L'ombre' and that sounded fresh and made me curious to hear the rest.

À l'ombre is all kinds of amazing. French Pop is quickly becoming one of my favourite european foreign languaged pop music. I'll give the album a try sometime when I'm not busy. :D

I'm not really crazy about this one. I keep going back to her older albums rather than listening to the new one. She's not as bad as Madonna in trying to chase trends but it's still very noticeable, unfortunately.

Bitch please - this is GOOD but Bleu Noir is one of her very best, though obv L'autre is the crowning glory of her career albums wise.

Inammoramento is up there with her best albums too, but you're right about L'Autre, it's kind of her Like A Prayer. Must admit I haven't listened to Monkey Me yet but I quite like A L'Ombre especially the TYP remix *.*

Innamoramento is my favorite from her after L'Autre. Stunning album :wub:

It was actually the first ever I heard and bought (for 50 Francs if I recall, as it was mispriced in a Calais supermarket :lol: ) but it stands the test of time. If I can continue the (somewhat lazy and facile) Madonna comparison, it's her Ray Of Light. Souviens-toi du jour :heart:

I'm not BIG on here beyond L'autre, Bleu Noir, this and the first GH - the singles from the other albums are a bit too patchy to make me want to investigate much further.

'L'Âme-stam-gram' doesn't make you want to listen to the album :o? And like Tom said 'Souviens-toi du jour' is also great.

Sorry to bump this for very little reason but I've gone back to this album quite alot recently and I can say that it is definitely better than 'Bleu noir' and 'Point de suture' aka her last two albums.

'Elle a dit' is so catchy it's insane! Always have it on repeat.

 

STILL contemplating to go see her in concert but the tickets are expensive and it's in Belgium so I'd have to get a hotel too for the night...

Only just noticed this bump! I've not been listening to it much but earlier on in the year it was something of a staple for me, it's grown and grown in my eyes.

 

I would say DEFINITELY GO but the tickets are sketchy, and accommodation is another thing entirely. Have you ever been to a concert of hers before?

No, never been before. The last time she did a concert thing was in 2009 and I wasn't that familiar with her back then. But I already decided that I'm not going, I don't want to go alone. So the plan is to start dating a Mylène loving boyfriend between now and her next concert tour and go with him. How hard can that be, eh?

 

'Monkey Me' is the third single by the way, very good choice (although it will undoubtly flop à la 1-30-75-OUT). The singles from this album really are suberb choices. 'Elle a dit' fourth and last single please.

Ooh yay, I'm really surprised there actually IS a third single after it all went quiet for so long. Hopefully it can do SOMEWHAT better than 'Je te dis tout', that didn't even go top 200 on airplay :(
