That's a shame as Girls Allowed and Some Kind of Miracle are so much better than Jump.

I was really disappointed to see 'You Freak Me Out' and 'Girls On Film' crash out so low. :( Everything else I wasn't too fussed about, but 'All I Need (All I Don't)' is quite a gem.

 

I remember 'Some Kind Of Miracle', 'You Freak Me Out' and 'White Lies' were all branded as the follow-up to 'Life Got Cold' before they just went for 'Jump' and the re-release instead.

It sounds like they had no idea what they were going to release after life got cold!!

I don't remember 'You Freak Me Out' being a 4th single contender? I'm not sure whether that song was known about until they were underway with 'Jump' promotion. It was definitely planned to be a 5th single though! Cat Deeley introduced it as "their next single, out in the new year" when they performed it on CD:UK.

Almost everything that has gone thus far is either forgettable and/or shit. Fix Me Up not being dead last is somewhat of an insult to Love Bomb really. Oh and Money should have been 2nd last too, I'll give you any/every other GA song, but those 2 are dire beyond compare.

I remember on that weekly release schedule, the single alternated between those 3 at the time in the "coming soon" section.

Yes, another from the SOTU album, Ranking joint 25th (with I'm Falling) but ranking 3rd from the first album is White Lies, I actually think this is a great song, probably one of their best vocally from the first album, would have liked to see it performed live

At joint 25th with the above song is the first to fall out from the masterpiece that is Tangled Up, I actually still really love this song and I remember it being one of my faves from TU at the beginning, but it hasn't stood the test of time like some of the other gems on there, still it gets top 25 with an average rating of 7.52

 

 

24. Racey Lacy - 143.5 points (7.55 points)

 

 

The 2nd song from the Chemistry era to fall out of the running is the 2nd bonus track Racey Lacy, for some reason I thought this would be higher, a good and funny song, with some quirky lyrics.

Up next we have another tie at 23rd, and its the joint 3rd song to fall from WWTNS, A very catchy song and one I could have imagined being released, I love their hamornies on the above performance

Also at joint 23rd is another from the WWTNS album, the first of the 2 Nicola solo tracks, I Say a Prayer For You, I never really took notice of this song in the early years but this ha became one of my all time favourites of GA, probably because of the fact is purely Nicola and a ballad. Also the above video is mine :heart:

 

 

22. Damn - 145.5 points (Average: 7.67)

 

 

The second song from TU to take a tumble is 'Damn' this doesn't surprise me, its probably my worst from the album tbh, even though I still think its great, TU is definitely in my Top 3 albums of all time. Anyway even though it came 11th out of the TU era it still manages to come 22nd overall and a rather high average of 7.67/10

 

 

21. Deadlines & Diets - 146 points (Average: 7.68)

 

 

So Deadlines & Diets from WWNTS just misses out on the Top 20. Personally I LOVE this song, not only one of my favourite album tracks but in my Top 20 GA songs EVER! I just think the lyrics are fantastic, the vocals, production everything, and the above live version is brilliant!

Real Life is a bit of a gem, although I have to be in the right mood to appreciate it as the chorus can get a bit jarring.

Yeah I completely agree with that!

"Money" would be a much better song without the creepy man's lyrics, other than that it's a lot of fun! I'm surprised the What Will the Neighbours Say? songs are so high - it's such a poor album overall and their weakest by a mile. Poor Sound of the Underground :(

Starting off the Top 20 is another tie, first up is Thank Me Daddy, another from the WWTNS album,I don't really have lots to say about this, really nice song but there is many others I would have liked higher.

Also at #20 is the 2nd solo Nicola track, this time from the Chemistry album, another great song, and I'm glad its made the top 20. Nicola finally started to shine around this era imo!

 

 

19. What You Crying For - 151.5 points (Average: 7.87)

 

 

At #19 is the 3rd song from TU, meaning it came 10th from that album. What You Crying For is one of the perfect songs on the album in my opinion. I thought it was quite underrated so I'm pleasantly surprised that it came 19th.

LOVE 'It's Magic', quite like 'Thank Me Daddy'. 'What You Crying For' is one of the rather average tracks on Tangled Up for me.
