18. Girls Allowed - 152 points (Average: 8)

In joint 18th place is 'Girls Allowed' the second from last song from the SOTU album, leaving only SKOM. I can see why this song got so high and how it was a possible contender for a single, it has a very typical GA feel. Also the first song to gain an 8 point average! "I don't need a man who hasn't got a job, Who sits watching telly with his belly and a bottle of rum.."

18. Big Brother - 152 points (Average: 8)

Joint with the previous song Big Brother gets to #18 and also ranks 2nd from the WWTNS album. Another really solid song but I think there is far better from this particular album, still it manages to gain an 8/10 overall. "Big brother's watching me and I don't really mind, I like him, watching me, watch him watch life.."

17. Swinging London Town - 152.5 points (Average: 8.02)

Just beating the previous two songs is Swinging London Town, which has came 5th from the Chemistry album tracks, obviously Buzzjack don't quite agree with all the fans that recently voted this onto the 2nd disc of the 'Ten' album as this has come the lowest out of them 5 songs. Personally I think this is one of the worst from the Chemistry era, but obviously it has its fans. "That I'm living on a tightrope, I can't, I won't look down, I pussy-foot from drink to drink in Swinging London Town.."

I remember on that weekly release schedule, the single alternated between those 3 at the time in the "coming soon" section.

Not that it particularly matters, but I had a look back at the old release schedules...

'You Freak Me Out' isn't referenced anywhere until early November 2003, long after Jump was officially scheduled. It certainly wasn't known about as early as 12/19 Sep, when the release schedule states 'TBA'.

From the 'Girls Aloud - You Can't Mistake Our Anthology' Singles Box book: Whole Lotta Historical Notes: Had the opportunity of Love Actually not arisen, Girls Aloud's fourth single would have been 'Some Kind Of Miracle'.

Surprised to see 'Swinging London Town' as low as 17th! Definitely in my Top 10 personal favourites.

Interesting, well it seems SKOM would have been a good choice!

16. Rolling Back The Rivers In Time - 154 points (Average: 8.2)

Well up next is RBTRIT, ranking 6th from OOC era and 16th overall. Personally this is one of my all-time favourite GA songs, it has a old school throwback kind of feel, my two favourites Nicola and Nadine shine in it and the vocoder part from Cheryl is also fantastic! I thought at one point it might get the single treatment as I'm pretty sure a few of them sad this was their personal favourite from the album in the special editions interview. "Gone are the days of magic, those times were cool. I tried to make love not hate, What was I to do?.."

I can't believe, in hindsight, that it wasn't the second single from OOC.

That would have been a disaster! If 'The Loving Kind' scraped in at #10, this would have definitely ended their consecutive run of 20 top 10 singles.

I don't like 'Rivers', one of my least favourites on Out Of Control.

Really? I think TLK only reached number 10 because the general public saw it as a Call The Shots part 2!

And at joint 15th -

15. Here We Go - 155.5 points (Average: 8.18)

At 15th (joint with the next song) is HWG, the song ranking 2nd from the WWTNS era, no shocker at what is left. Anyway I think this is a fantastic song and could have been a brilliant single from the 2nd era imo. Incredibly catchy and fun. "Put your tongue in my ear, It's queer but kinda fun.."

15. Crocodile Tears - 155.5 points (Average: 8.07)

Up next, joint with the above is Crocodile Tears, ranking only 6th from the TU era (5 still to come) the last of the album tracks to not be sang live, maybe that has something to do with it? I adore this song, one of my faves again from them overall, I would have killed to hear it live! "Stupid cupid took a terrible ending, you could have your hour and be happy

and no one goes.."

Agreed, I think RBTRIT would have been a perfect follow up to The Promise

So, again that's your lot for today, we only have The Top 14 left to reveal, but technically its 16 as we have a 3-WAY tie up next!

So what are your predictions? Here is what is left in the running:

Some Kind Of Miracle (Sound Of The Underground)

Graffiti My Soul (What Will The Neighbours Say)

Models (Chemistry)

Wild Horses (Chemistry)

Watch Me Go (Chemistry)

Waiting (Chemistry)

Close To Love (Tangled Up)

Girl Overboad (Tangled Up)

Black Jacks (Tangled Up)

Control Of The Knife (Tangled Up)

Fling (Tangled Up)

Love Is The Key (Out Of Control)

Turn To Stone (Out Of Control)

Love Is Pain (Out Of Control)

Miss You Bow Wow (Out Of Control)

Revolution In The Head (Out Of Control)

I do like a bit of 'Rolling'! Rather pleasant and dreamy sounding.

Pretty much all of the remaining sixteen songs are amazing... I'd predict that these six haven't made it into the Top 10:

Some Kind Of Miracle (Sound Of The Underground)

Wild Horses (Chemistry)

Models (Chemistry)

Love Is The Key (Out Of Control)

Turn To Stone (Out Of Control)

Love Is Pain (Out Of Control)

'You Freak Me Out' was on the Freaky Friday soundtrack, which was released right in the midst of the song being on the release schedule as Jay posted... possible connection there?
That's actually a really solid list! 'Revolution In The Head' sticks out like a sore thumb there though.

Agree, but I also add Turn To Stone and Love Is Pain too!
