Posted August 16, 200618 yr From SoundGenerator Dido back for 2007 The singer recording her third album Dido Dido says she's "full steam ahead" with her new album, although don't expect to see anything until 2007. In a fan interview this week, the pop singer revealed recording sessions in LA for the follow-up to 2003's "Life For Rent" had been going well - and throwing up some unexpected results. "The process is a lot of fun this time, I'm experimenting a lot with different instruments and ways of making sounds etc," says Dido. "[i'm] really pushing myself into different directions as far as writing and recording (some of them work, some of them don't but I know that soon I'm going to want to get out of the studio and back on the road performing. "I think realistically it'll be next year now," she adds, touching on the new album. "I'm full steam ahead now, though. I've got tons of stuff I'm really proud of written and I'm in the studio every day here in LA recording. I'm actually dying to get stuff out there and play people things but because I'm doing things a little differently this time I don't want to rush it. From DigitalSpy Dido sells most albums in last 10 years Tuesday, August 15 2006, 11:30 BST - by David Cribb The top selling albums of this decade have been announced, with Dido featuring twice. Her album Life For Rent made fourth place, while No Angel sold just under 3 million copies over the past ten years, narrowly beating James Blunt into second place. The former army captain managed to make number two, despite recently being voted the fourth most annoying thing ever in a public survey. David Gray's White Ladder, and the Beatles' Greatest Hits album 1 came third and fifth respectively. here it is: Q. I've seen on your MySpace profile that there is no firm release date for your third album, but I just wanted to know how it was coming along. Go on give us something! Marcus Burscough, Fishguard Dido replies: I think realistically it'll be next year now. I'm full steam ahead now, though. I've got tons of stuff I'm really proud of written and I'm in the studio every day here in LA (there's not much else to do...) recording. I'm actually dying to get stuff out there and play people things but because I'm doing things a little differently this time I don't want to rush it. The process is a lot of fun this time, I'm experimenting a lot with different instruments and ways of making sounds etc... and really pushing myself into different directions as far as writing and recording (some of them work, some of them don't...:-) ) but I know that soon I'm going to want to get OUT of the studio and back on the road performing. I can feel the frustration of not doing shows already creeping up. LifeLight Edited August 16, 200618 yr by LifeLight
August 16, 200618 yr I dont know why but I have started to really dislike Dido. Her voice is bland and boring and she is SO overatted
August 16, 200618 yr All her songs sound identical if you ask me :smoke: Something we can agree on :smoke:
August 16, 200618 yr She can take all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned.... If I never hear another bland, tedious utterance from Ms Dulldo ever again I shall be incredibly happy....

August 16, 200618 yr Who ever is buying her music beats me -_- It's Middle-Class 'couples music' innit..? The sorta thing that Middle Class couples play when having their dinner parties with their Middle-Class mates in their flats in places like Islington or Hampstead. Trendy wine bar music, she's big with bored housewives as well I should imagine... ,,Maybe even the odd curious Eminem fan conned into buying her first album when Mr Mathers had her in the "Stan" video.....

Apparently she didn't get the royalties she was supposed to have for 'Stan'.
August 16, 200618 yr Apparently she didn't get the royalties she was supposed to have for 'Stan'. Seriously? And she hasn't sued the little fukker...?? :o
August 16, 200618 yr Well I am going to go against the grain and stick up for her. I like her. Her voice is gentle and it soothes me. And her songs are catchy in their quiet way. I for one am looking forward to her new album.
August 16, 200618 yr I think she gets far more stick than she deserves, I like her voice, it's unique and nice. I've liked all the singles, I only own the first album, but I really like that so may one day pick up Life For Rent if I see it cheap.

August 16, 200618 yr I think she gets far more stick than she deserves, I like her voice, it's unique and nice. Yeah, she's NICE, that's what most people say about her, 'ooh, her voice is nice' as if just sounding merely 'nice' is enough; unfortunately she's also bloody boring and coma-inducing. Christ, could you imagine a Dido/Coldplay Co-headlining tour...? The incidences of sponteaneous friggin' Narcolepsy would be incredible..... Christina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil and Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation have all the 'nice' qualities to their voices that Dulldo has, only there's a lot more balls and actual life behind the music....
