December 20, 201212 yr Author 10. Tulisa - Live It Up (feat. Tyga) http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9dwpq2gOa1qca897o1_500.gif Chart Run: [18-3-3-1-2-2-2-2-6-11-16-19-26] Points: 227 The first of three artists to have TWO songs in the top 10 (don't stay awake at night thinking up who the other two are, as it will all be revealed eventually). Tulisa kicks off the top 10 with this song that unfortunately features in her dreaded blonde hair days (). It has been slightly overshadowed by the many amazing tracks on The Female Boss, but it remains testament to her "Urban Roots", and showed something very different to 'Young'. Managing to sneak a week at #1, and a mammoth top 5 run, Tulisa stamped her position onto my personal charts as a force to be reckoned with. I don't take no crap from any haterz, cus i'm young. K?
December 20, 201212 yr 15. Basshunter - Northern Light http://nowmagazine.media.ipcdigital.co.uk/11140/000007787/56bd/basshunter.jpg Chart Run: [25-1-1-1-1-3-5-6-12-14-22-28] Points: 195 A little early Christmas treat from this hunk of Swedish Meatballs, Basshunter has always been successful on my chart, and sure enough he returned with this mammoth hit, that stayed atop my chart for a month (yes, really!). The infectious, raving beat, the corny lyrics, the hot video, Jonas' sultry voice... Everything was in check for him to smash, and smash he did, and smash me he can continue to do :yahoo: . he has weird nerps and unusually big hands, like an ape. Sorry. :P
December 20, 201212 yr Author he has weird nerps and unusually big hands, like an ape. Sorry. :P From what i've seen, he needs extra big hands :kink: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3ibeoUnGS1rugxh4o1_500.gif

December 21, 201212 yr Author Die. "All i ever wanted, was to see you... DIE!" :music: 09. Alexandra Burke - Let It Go http://i28.tinypic.com/f5a7ap.jpg Chart Run: [16-6-5-6-1-2-5-6-13-11-11-15-19-20-25-27-26-22-30] Points: 233 Bare with me on this one... The suprise hit of the year comes from Ms OK.com herself, with this quite spectacular 3 minutes of generic lush-ness. Another song that meant a hell of a lot to me at the time it was released (some deep lyrics and all that), its chart run shock me even now, but i wouldn't have it any other way. It's generic as hell, but since when was that a bad thing, especially if it feels so good? I obviously wish this could have done something in the chart, but as i'm not really a fan of Burke's music in general, i wasn't too fussed that the album bombed. A special song in many ways for me this year, WHO KNEW?
December 21, 201212 yr Let It Go  love this. There were a fair few great tracks on her album. My EOY is awaiting comments too btw :smoke:
December 22, 201212 yr Author 08. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra) http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m58ax4jdmS1r1mkubo1_500.gif Chart Run: (Original): [13-4-6-6-3-3-7-6-7-8-14-21-X-22-24] Remix: [18-19] Points: 235 The undeniable song of 2012, love it or hate it, Gotye entered the year with an almighty bang. Retrospectively, this is in my top 5 of the year, but it 'only' manages to enter at #8 in the EOY chart. The song seemed to capture everyone through its alternative slice of pop mastery, and an equally inspired video. Helped slightly by Tiesto's incredible remix of the song, the song is testament to the definition of a one-hit wonder; although follow up Eyes Wide Open did chart here, it unfortunately did nothing officially.
December 23, 201212 yr Author 07. Nicki Minaj - Starships http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m35jnj5uNL1qbvifho1_500.gif Chart Run: [1-1-1-1-2-4-5-10-14-21-20-21-18-18-12-19-25-X-28-X-27] Points: 249 Where would a countdown of the biggest songs of 2012 be without Starships? (Probably on an actual countdown that actually merits the quality of the songs...) There was no denying Nicki's return, when Starships blew up everywhere, including here, spending a month at the top and a hefty chart run to follow. Looking back now, Starships is really quite annoying (but not as annoying as her other entry in the top 10 :drama:). It's a fun, escapist romper, but apart from that, Nicki go back to what you do best please and stop limping around like a fish in your videos
December 23, 201212 yr Author 06. fun. - We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5tu53po931rw3mwgo1_500.gif Chart Run: [11-2-4-8-10-15-17-23-13-15-15-1-3-7-10-17-22-27-X-21] Points: 256 Watching this slowly blow up in the US, and praying it would get a UK release eventually (pah), fun. stomped into my chart, and made a mark as my favourite band of the year. We Are Young epitomises the album perfectly; the band are a joyous, screamy, passionate bunch of guys with the ability of creating those long-yearned power ballads of yore (what am i going on about?). We Are Young is far from the highlight of the album (that's still to come), and it has probably been dented slightly through overplaying and whoring around the radio all year, but i can't deny how incredible it still sounds.
December 23, 201212 yr Author I've decided to do a mini album chart of my favourites of the year later (and further prove how much of a mainstream whore i am (i'm trying to change (so forgive me, i'm still Young))). Edited December 23, 201212 yr by HausofBaubles
December 23, 201212 yr Author Top 10 Album Chart Just missing out on potentially making the top 10 is Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city (just because i've only just got into it). It is an exceptional album though, with my highlights being Swimming Pools (Drank), Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe, good kid, and Backseat Freestyle  10. Frank Ocean - Channel ORANGE qqkYW_vcyPw Top 5 Songs: 11.0 Bad Religion 10.0 Pyramids 9.5 Thinkin Bout You 9.3 Lost 8.5 Monks This wondrous album probably would have charted much higher, had i had discovered it earlier, but as it's fairly new to me, it only just manages to sneak into the top 10. I wasn't too hooked until i heard the pulsating synthing beats in Pyramids and the melancholic lyrics of Bad Religion. It's testament to the album's brilliance that it manages to live up to ALL the hype, and while it isn't without it's flaws, it's still a masterclass in how to do hip-hop right (following in the footsteps of King Kanye of course).
December 23, 201212 yr Author Nate Ruess is damn sexy. We Are Young got overplayed, but i still love it. Eww really? I don't see it at all! 09. Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up 35VuiUwsFLE Top 5 Songs: 11.0 Marilyn Monroe 10.5 Roman Holiday 9.5 Young Forever 9.5 Beautiful Sinner 9.5 Up In Flames PFRRTRU is such a hot mess of an album, that it actually pains me to listen to it now, but there is definitely a strong album hidden in there somewhere. Some truly incredible songs, and some downright tacky choones make this a mixed bag. When it's good it's good, and when it's bad it's awful. I played it to death throughout the summer, but haven't really gone back to it since. The Re-Up bit was fun for a week too, but that's about it.
December 23, 201212 yr Perfect top 10 on both accounts so far  Barring Live It Up but that was a given :P Let It Go is fantastic, best track by far on Heartbreak On Hold. But then aside from Elephant, Between The Sheets, Tonight and Ooh La La it was shit  Edited December 23, 201212 yr by Liаm
December 23, 201212 yr The pop half of Roman Reloaded is FAB. Don't like the urban half though. Top five: 1. Marilyn Monroe 2. Starships 3. Automatic 4. Va Va Voom 5. Young Forever
December 23, 201212 yr Author The pop half of Roman Reloaded is FAB. Don't like the urban half though. Top five: 1. Marilyn Monroe 2. Starships 3. Automatic 4. Va Va Voom 5. Young Forever I prefer her emotional side (Moment For Life style) or the more fun/urban side. Not a fan of her poppy stuff anymore, although Automatic is amazing!
December 24, 201212 yr Author 08. Conor Maynard - Contrast 3THA7HN6who Top 6 Songs: 11.0 Animal 10.0 Turn Around 9.5 Take Off 9.0 Better Than You 9.0 Mary Go Around 8.5 Just In Case I've long got past the weird obsession with Conor's facial expressions and I managed to delve right into Contrast, which is a solid pop album that even King Justin T would be proud of. Borrowing a lot off JT, infusing it with some MJ, Kanye and a whole heap of Maynard magic, and you have a very, very strong debut, which can hopefully lead into much more for him. The highlights of the album come thick and fast, with only a few dud moments (Glass Girl). Y U CHOOSE 2 RELEASE THE WEAKEST SINGLES FIRST CONOR POO? AND Y WILEY RUINING YOUR BEST SONG CONOR POO!?
