So that'll mean contemporary graphic design looks like a 7 year old playing about with photo shop then ;)

LOL clearly you know nothing about contemporary graphic design :S Easily the best album cover of the year so far...

This album grows on me each time I listen. Truly stunning — A Cherry on Top is probably my favorite right now.

Oh quite clearly.

I teach it, smartarse.

And I'm about to graduate with a degree in it, how can you not see the Dutch influence? It feels pretty current and well-designed to me, I think dismissing it as a "7 year old playing about with photo shop" is a pretty ignorant thing to say tbh.... Brought to mind a couple of designers:

You're right it is ignorant.

I should have said a nine year old with a paint program.

And I should know I teach 9 year olds.

Just because it might not look like a seven year old playing around with Photoshop, it's still pretty crap.
LOL, y'all are cute and entitled to your own opinion, but the art direction for this era is pretty on point/well designed. I sometimes forget how behind the times Buzzjack really is...

Yikes. The past page has been a bit cringeworthy for everyone involved. I can't comment on Shaking the Habitual when this exists.

You've kind of forgetting that we have an opinion as well about the album cover, get over yourself, not everyone has the same tastes as you.

(also that YYYs cover really is terrible, the Sacrilege art got my hopes up a little)

That's totally fine and of course (!) everyone will have a different opinion about something. I don't care if people don't like it. Clearly the album cover is riffing on a sort of stock imagery/Dutch sort of design style which is not to everyone's taste and that's totally fine — but to call it childish/bad just came off as v uniformed and did not sit well with me. That is all ~

OK, that's fine. I know what you mean now. ^_^

gutting!!! it is a statement that does seem very 'we're not interested in doing anything right now' but does leave room for future music in the pipeline so i remain hopeful :(

I was initially gutted by this. Then I thought it's possible they had taken their music as far as their journey could go without becoming repetitive or stale.

Not known here at all, but I ADORE The Knife. Silent Shout is one of my favourite albums ever. Quite gutted but I didn't hear any of the last album so...
