October 26, 201410 yr Glow is losing spins like crazy. Time to move onto single number 3 me thinks, which it seems like they're doing, since she's prepping the video. :)
October 26, 201410 yr WW sales: @EllaHenderson, Chapter One 55,000 (debut). So it did 12,000 outside of the UK. Not bad.
October 26, 201410 yr Does anyone have any guesses as to why Glow didn't receive as much airplay as Ghost? Ghost was number 1, Glow top 25... Is airplay determined by sales, itunes, hype, etc? I'm sorry if I come off as annoying, this is my first time following an era in the UK. :) Edited October 26, 201410 yr by Mirror Man
October 26, 201410 yr Another question, lol. Will Ella's third single, whatever it may be, be released in the same fashion as the first two and be up for pre-order or will it just have the album version to chart off of? Which means it will probably need a performance to peak high, no?

Ghost is a great song, that probably helps.
October 26, 201410 yr It will be "Empire", it was played on Strictly during one of the VT's last night :) Glorious album by the way

October 26, 201410 yr She didn't promote glow as much and ghost overshadowed it as it's still pretty successful at the moment in terms of airplay. A top 25 hit doesn't guarantee airplay Unfortunatley :( For example Disco Love by the sats went #5 but didn't improve anything airplay-wise Edited October 26, 201410 yr by Neil. S
October 26, 201410 yr Unless she starts releasing tracks that make the top 40 one week and drop out the next, I honestly wouldn't worry about her success, Mirror Man
October 26, 201410 yr Sorry for the confusion. I know Glow went to number 7 on the official charts. I was saying I had saw that it was top 25 in "airplay" ...

October 26, 201410 yr Would someone mind posting the sales and chart positions for Chapter One and Glow in here when they get posted? I'm off to work so it would be lovely to see them when I get home! Thanks :)
October 26, 201410 yr In the car for a few hours today listening to Chapter One --- new favourite Giants! Wouldnt object to that be a single either ;)
October 26, 201410 yr Empire has to be the next single, it is stunning  I think a live performance of it would be magical.
October 27, 201410 yr Ella doing her first US promo for Ghost this week on 'Dancing with the Stars' tonight! Halloween special, Ghost yeah we geddit.
October 27, 201410 yr Any sales for Chapter 1 or Glow? :) 16k for chapter one, not sure about Glow but probably around the same
October 27, 201410 yr There isnt a formula for getting airplay, otherwise everyone would use it! Ghost is a great song, that probably helps. Exactly. A large part of why 'Glow' didn't do anywhere near as well as 'Ghost' is simply because the latter is an obvious smash in every sense of the word (incredibly catchy, instant, radio-friendly etc.) I sometimes think that's overlooked when people are analysing Ella's chart success/prospects.

Yup! Glow was 'a grower' that doesnt really cut it on radio these days! Empire I think is more instant and stands a much better chance.
