Posted December 18, 201212 yr 2013 is almost upon us so it's time to reveal my singles and albums of what's been quite a good year in music. Better than 2011 anyway. No real strict rules regarding this, it's not based on my personal chart, so long as I have enjoyed said song/album in 2012 it's eligible to chart here. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/thelipsYMTGGWSMALL_zps434c0ff1.jpghttp://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/lawsonwswmSMALL_zps03b97cee.jpghttp://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/dannydeliriousSMALL_zpsf07ca4af.jpghttp://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/stooshelovemeSMALL_zpsf0ae7984.jpghttp://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/Leona-Lewis-TroubleSMALL_zps7d017803.jpg 150. Lawson's debut 'When She Was Mine' is at 149, whilst two times Melodifestivalen loser, Danny Saucedo has his first entry here with latest single 'Delirious'. Stooshe make the chart with debut 'Love Me', whilst X Factor winner Leona Lewis has her only appearance with 'Trouble' at 146. Another Sandebörg BJSC DNQ is at 145, in the first of two songs on the chart to be about Swedish capital, Stockholm. David Guetta and Nicki Minaj also make the bottom end, with their collab 'Turn Me On', both artists have more appearances to come. The first 2012 Eurovision entry is at 143, Eleftheria Eleftheriou who represented Greece with the catchy 'Aphrodisiac'. The final single from Kelly Clarkson's Stronger album is at 142, whilst Lawson have another entry at 141 with 'Standing In The Dark'. Edited January 4, 201312 yr by AdamAloud

Their album 'Express Non-Stop' missed out on an appearance from the top 20 albums. Icelandic songstress Thorunn Antonia reaches the chart with 'So High'. P!nk's recent single 'Try' is at 139, whilst Nelly Furtado's big comeback single didn't set the charts alight as she may have hoped and only ends up at 137 here as well. Maroon 5 reach 136 with the worldwide number 1 'Payphone' and the first of two David Guetta/Sia collabs is at 135 with 'She Wolf'. Not a million miles away in terms of sound is Swedish House Mafia's 'Greyhound' at 134. Taylor Swift manages an appearance at 133 with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'. This song has been played to death at my work and thus ends up lower than it probably deserves. John Lewis heroine Gabrielle Aplin reaches 132 with her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'The Power Of Love'. Eric Saade clearly marching the wrong way on the end of year chart after scoring a top 3 with 'Popular' last year, as he can only reach 131 with 'Marching (In The Name Of Love)'. Looking mighty fine in the video though!
December 20, 201212 yr Author The LIPS should have been top 10 in BJSC :( I know, I really don't know what went wrong with them, all but one predicted me to go through! :(

It’s all about the intro for me in this. JLS’ latest offering is next and is quite a step back from the fantastic singles from ‘Jukebox’ (yes, even ‘Take A Chance On Me’!) but nice all the same. Kelly Clarkson’s greatest hits single ‘Catch My Breath’ is at 128 and showcases her vocals perfectly. European but not UK smash hit ‘Ai Se Eu Te Pego!’ is next. I can’t believe ‘Loca People’ was a number 1 yet this got nowhere! The incredibly catchy ‘L’amore è femmina’ is at 126 and scored Italy another top 10 in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. And a former winner of that contest, Lena returned this year with her first non-Eurovision related album, ‘Stardust’. The title track was the lead single and is at 125 here. Maroon 5 have had phenomenal success since 2011’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ and they’re at 124 with ‘One More Night’. Paloma Faith makes 123 with ‘Picking Up The Pieces’. Another flop for Mr Saade as his other 2012 single is at 122. Though the video has Eric in the shower so all is forgiven! Finally Labrinth and songstress of the moment Emeli Sandé round of this part with ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’. I look forward to Girls Aloud covering it on tour next year. :nocheer:

'Blow Me' is typical P!nk and ends up at 119. The 'joke' of Melodifestivalen 2012, Mr Sean Banan is at 118. I can't help but love this catchy ridiculousness. Här glider kingen in! The 50th winner of BJSC, 'Indigo' is another reason why Numayania is my favourite BJSC country of the year. A huge top 5 hit in the form of Alicia Keys' 'Girl On Fire' is next. The long awaited English version of Medina's 2011 hit 'For Altid' is at 115. Whilst 'Forever' is still better than most of the UK charts, I much prefer its Danish version. Another 2012 Melodifestivalen entrant is crying over Eric Saade (who wouldn't?) next. The final Lawson entry is at 113, 'Taking Over Me' being their best single by far, but still not good enough for top 100. The theme for the latest James Bond film is next and rounding off this part is another Swedish pop pleasure, 'Give Me That O' by Rebecca Stella.

'Oh My Goodness', the final single from Olly Murs' second album 'In Case You Didn't Know' is next. The video features Olly running through a shopping centre for a girl who isn't really interested at the end. Poor Olly. Danish singer Chanée has her debut solo release 'Fallen' at 108, another example of Scandinavian brilliance. Cheryl no Cole misses the top 100 with 'Under The Sun', the second single from third album 'A Million Lights'. A good song with a surprisingly great video. After the success of 'Levels' at the end of 2011, Avicii wasn't able to live up to the same standard with 'Silhouettes', even though it features vocals from the brilliant Salem Al Fakir. If you haven't heard 'Keep On Walking' I suggest you look it up. X Factor's twice reject from 2011, Amelia Lily is at 105 with her debut release, the Xenomania produced 'You Bring Me Joy', whilst Danny Saucedo has another entry at 104 with 'All In My Head'. Only his Melodifestivalen effort left to come. Despite the massive success of Stooshe's second single 'Black Heart' over the summer, their debut album release has been a shambles and is still to be officially released. The first ever Sandebörg entry is at 102, the brilliant Norlie & KKV and 'Tröjan du hatar' which means the sweater you hate. Still love this song so sad to see it miss out on a place in the rejects. Crashing out at 101 is Nicki Minaj's 'Pound The Alarm'. The top 20 albums will kick off next.
December 27, 201212 yr Quite a lot stuff charting far lower down that I would have expected here! Forever, in particular! Then again, I am loving almost every song here so looking forward to what remains to be revealed!
December 28, 201212 yr Author Time to kick off the EOY album top 20 then. ________________________________________________ 20. CHERYL | A Million Lights http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/20amillionlights400.jpg 01. Under The Sun 08.5 02. Call My Name 11.0 03. Craziest Things (feat. will.i.am) 02.5 04. Girl In The Mirror 06.5 05. A Million Lights 01.0 06. Screw You (feat. Wretch 32) 08.0 07. Love Killer 07.5 08. Ghetto Baby 05.5 09. Sexy Den A Mutha 08.0 10. Mechanics Of The Heart 05.0 11. All Is Fair 03.0 The first album in my EOY top 20 is the third solo album from Girls Aloud star, Cheryl Cole. After her divorce from footballer and all round knob Ashley Cole, Cheryl decided she would drop her surname from her artwork, for design purposes of course. Album opener 'Under The Sun' is a sunny pop affair which really suits Cheryl. It was released as the second single and gave Cheryl her seventh solo top 20 hit. 'Call My Name' is Cheryl's best ever output as a solo artist, which is really thanks to Calvin Harris. The intro is superb! Then will.i.am., the person who persuaded Cheryl to go solo (DIE), pops up and ruins things. They'll never top '3 Words' (the song) so why bother? The title track is beyond dull, a great example of why Cheryl should stick to big uptempo dance stormers. Cancelled single due to Girls Aloud's tenth anniversay reunion 'Screw You' is fantastic and is the antidote to 'A Million Lights'. Although I do have a soft spot for 'Love Killer', so maybe there is hope for ballad Cheryl. 'Sexy Den A Mutha' would be a 9 or a 10, however I cannot forgive that awful title. The album finishes off with more so-so ballads. Not a bad album per se, just a few of the ballads need eliminating and you've got a cracking pop album, one that a member of Girls Aloud should be producing. 19. SCISSOR SISTERS | Magic Hour http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll39/kimdasazelle2/19magichour400.jpg 01. Baby Come Home 06.0 02. Keep Your Shoes On 08.0 03. Inevitable 07.0 04. The Secret Life Of Letters 04.0 12. Somewhere 06.5 At 19 is 'Magic Hour', the fourth studio album from the Scissor Sisters. The album's opening tracks are typical Scissor Sisters. 'Inevitable' shows a more mature sound for the band, not a million miles away from 'Fire With Fire'. Lead single 'Only The Horses' was co-produced by producer du jour Calvin Harris. The single could only make #12 in the UK charts, a real shame as the track is fantastic. 'Let's Have A Kiki' is ridiculously bonkers, again typical Scissor Sisters. 'Shady Love' features Azealia Banks and was scheduled as the album's lead single before being replaced by 'Only The Horses'. A real shame as I think the track is brilliant, at least a video was made. The album closes with more OK midtempos. They're not bad songs, but they could certainly do with a spruce up. Their debut remains my favourite album from them, but this is still a solid effort and enjoyable. An EP perhaps of 6 or 7 of the best would've earned them a higher placing here.

I love the chorus in this, especially the woah-oh bits. 'You Da One', the 2nd single from Rihanna's 2011 album 'Talk That Talk' is next. Not one of my favourite Rihanna singles but still good enough for top 100. Probably would've been higher had it not been released in between years. I'm not really a fan of Ellie Goulding, 'Starry Eyed' still grates on me now, but 'Anything Could Happen' is fantastic. It's not enough to convince me to try the album though. 2012 monster hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is at 97, overkill has made this song lower than it deserves, but it was EVERYWHERE at the stars of the year. 'Chasing The Sun' is at 96 and in my opinion could do with a key change on the final chorus. Not The Wanted's finest work. Had 'Die Young' been released earlier it would've got a top 50 placing but Ke$ha will have to settle for 95. Still need to hear the album! Swedish girlband Timoteij have the first appearance with the pleasant 'Ta Mig Till Sommaren'. Carly Rae Jepsen's latest release makes 93 whilst Danish popband Alphabeat have their second and final appearance with 'Vacation'. Beyoncé rounds off this section at 91 with 'End Of Time', by far the best song from 2011's '4'. It deserved much more success than it had and a proper music video.

Scissor Sisters are at 89 with 'Shady Love'. A shame this single was cancelled, still one of my favourites from their album. Tulisa's debut solo effot 'Young' is the only good thing about her solo career yet still manages to outdo anything done by The N-Dubz. CHVRCHES have done very well in BJSC this year, 'Lies' makes 87 here. I much prefer it to 'The Mother We Share' although both were very good entries. Swedish singer Darin has his best offering from this year's 'Så Mycket Bättre'. 'Stockholm', a cover of the Pugh Rogefeldt song gives Darin his first entry here. I cannot wait for new Darin material next year, I've heard the album's being released around February/March time! A big hit from the summer comes in the form of 'Too Close' by Alex Clare at 85. Another song I couldn't get away from, so has ended up lower due to overkill. Despite all the signs of a flop, Alexandra Burke got her 'Elephant' to the top 3 at the start of the year. However the album wasn't up to much and even for someone who loves their generic pop, it wasn't the album I wanted or expected from Alexandra. Disclosure and Sam Smith are at 83 with 'Latch', a song I've loved the past 3 or 4 weeks so I had to include it. Congratulations to Jessie Ware who made it to the final of The Best Of BJSC tonight, unfortunately the same couldn't be said for Electric Lady Lab and the fabulous 'Taking Off'.

Don't Panic 06.5 Germany's Eurovision heroine returned this year with her third studio album 'Stardust'. The German issue of Rolling Stone magazine wrote that 'This time you actually have the feeling that this is really Lena, and not Stefan Raab's idea of Lena.' And I couldn't agree more. Not that her first two albums were bad, but this is so much more mature and a coherent album. Last year's 'Good News' was just her 12 potential Eurovision entries and therefore didn't flow as an album like 'Stardust' does. The title track is superb and is quickly becoming my favourite Lena song. Other songs like 'Mr. Arrow Key' and 'Pink Elephant' are typical Lena, quirky vocals to catchy pop. The album dips slightly in the middle but are no means bad songs. I really love 'ASAP' which features Swedish singer Miss Li and the album closer 'Don't Panic' is a bouncy way to end the album, which also includes a nice hidden track. This is an album which shows Lena is more than capable of surviving in the music industry post Eurovision, a rare feat nowadays for the winners. 17. Hot Right Now (DJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora 09.0 2012 was the year for Rita Ora as she released her debut solo album in August this year after 3 number 1 singles. The album also reached number 1 in the UK. People are saying she's a lesser Rihanna but I think she's nothing like Queen RiRi. The album starts with an intro, a pointless and unnecessary thing you need on an album. 'Facemelt' is like the ads you have to watch before the show on 4OD, you don't pay much attention. Singles 'How We Do' and 'R.I.P.' are both fantastic if a little generic, but then there's nothing wrong with generic! I'm one of the few who loves 'Shine Ya Light', for which Rita returned to her native Kosovo to shoot the video. will.i.am manages to end up on another album where he's not welcome and the end result is the worst song here. Rita's first number 1 'Hot Right Now' by DJ Fresh is a big ending to the album which would probably suit being earlier on in the tracklisting. I feel like ORA is the album Alexandra Burke should've come back with, but it's still a great debut for Rita and she can only get better with each album. If people think she really is the new Rihanna, can you imagine the quality of music she'll be producing in a few years time? That album cover is horrific though.

It really should've been higher than #9 in the charts, maybe if she'd had an X Factor performance? Rita Ora did and she makes 79 with the marmite 'Shine Ya Light'. Not even properly released yet, but 1D have their latest single 'Kiss You' at 78. I never thought I'd be such a fan of them! One hit wonders of 2012 Karmin have the fabulously catchy 'Brokenhearted' at 77. After appearing on two other tracks in the countdown, Emeli Sandé has one of her solo singles next at 76. Finnish Pop Idol winner Diandra has the scanditastic 'Outta My Head' at 75. Looking foward to her potential Eurovision entry next year! Swedish pop duo Icona Pop's 'I Love It' is at 74. I wasn't keen on the track when I first heard it, never charted it or voted for it BJSC but it's really grown on me the past few months. Roman Lob has the summertastic single 'Call Out The Sun' at 73. If you're talking about comebacks, then Robbie Williams' 2012 return with 'Candy' was brilliant. Finally, Jessie Ware has her 'Night Light' on at 71.

I think it was Sara Cox during the semi final commentary who said she sounded like Heather Small and looked like a Dolmio puppet! :D The 2012 Icelandic entry 'Never Forget' is at 69. 2012's monster hit came in the form of South Korean PSY and his 'Gangnam Style', it's great to see a foreign language song do so well in the UK charts. RiRi and Jay's non event of a single still manages to reach 67. Azealia Banks is at 66 with '212'. Hoepfully Azealia can have more mainstream success in 2013. Will Young just want a lover at 65. He always has good videos and this was no exception. My first number 1 of 2012 is at 64, JLS's 'Do You Feel What I Feel?'. The song broke their run of official top 10 singles which is a shame as I think it's their best! Another dance hit from 2012 was Rudimental and 'Feel The Love' and they end up at 63 here. The Wanted's last entry here is 'I Found You' which is my favourite single of theirs to date. After failing to hit the top spot the song quickly fell of the charts, are both JLS and The Wanted running out of steam? Jessie J's 'Domino' is at 61, probably should be a bit higher but suffers from being quite an old track.

Hoepfully 2013 will see a better year for The Sats, although I do highly doubt it. Taking over the reigns of best girlband then for 2012 is Timoteij. Fifth single from second album 'Tabu' reaches 59 here. Jessie Ware's 'Wildest Moments' is at 58 whilst Romanian Eurovision entrant Mandinga zaleilah their way to 57. The lead single for 1D's second album reaches 56 with 'What Makes You Beautiful Pt.III'. Probably the most undeserving DNQ of 2012 in BJSC came from Erdem Kınay and Aynur Aydın and the fabulous İşporta, they end up at 55 here. Another single from Timoteij's album makes 54, this time it's the title track. Inget är tabu, tabu! Another unlikely UK #1 this year was Sam & The Womp with the amazing 'Bom Bom', probably the highlight of the New Year's fireworks display in London last night! Bruno Mars made a comeback with 'Locked Out Of Heaven' and ends up at 52 here. Swedish DJ/producer Orion has his 2012 single at 51, which features Malin Gustavsson on vocals.
