Posted December 18, 201212 yr After reading this in this week's MusicWeek Report, I wondered what other songs make up the Highest Weekly Digital Sales. Impossible sold 86,795 copies on CD, and 402,765 downloads last week. The only download ever to sell more copies in a week was the Rage Against The Machine track (see above), which was 100% digital. The third biggest weekly digital sale is the 289,621 copies that Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah sold on its debut. Highest Weekly Digital Single Sales 01 502,672 - Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name 02 402,765 - James Arthur - Impossible 03 289,621 - Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah 271,035 - Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love Then earlier this year, MusicWeek posted the Top 5 Highest Weekly Digital Album Sales: Downloads accounted for 42.83% of sales of Del Rey's album last week, compared to a market average of 31.79%. In finite terms, that means it sold 50,007 copies on download. Only four albums have previously sold upwards of 50,000 copies in a week digitally: Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto (83,675, week 43, 2011), Take That's Progress (79,807, week 46, 2010), Adele's 21 (76,447, week 4, 2011) and Lady GaGa's Born This Way (56,937, week 4, 2011). Born To Die is the first debut album to top the 50,000 mark on its debut week or, indeed, any week (nitpickers note: the low-key Lana Del Rey AKA Lizzy Grant album issued in America in 2010 didn't get issued here). Highest Weekly Digital Album Sales 01 83,675 - Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto 02 79,807 - Take That – Progress 03 76,447 - Adele – 21 04 56,937 - Lady Gaga – Born This Way 05 50,007 - Lana Del Rey – Born to Die Anyone know any others which can be added?
