December 29, 201212 yr fchd, there is no exclusion in my methodology... You probably are not professional in music radios/TV and don't understand my point of view. All the music FM stations work the same way. There are 3 or 4 levels for current songs, depending on frequency of broadcast : A, B, C (sometimes D and E) lists. There is an absolute different treatment used for golds and recurrents because there is no "marketing" promotion around them and sales strategy is not the same aswell. Current music is by far the most exploited (by 70% of stations) and I count each song from this particular category, without exception. What's the problem with counting current songs only? It's just another methodology, not better or worse than any other. It's just different and it gives people a chance to discover the "new and fresh" music that is never mentionned anywhere else, and by extension, it gives a chance for any new song to become popular! My intention is not to imitate Nielsen or his clone UKairplaychart works that are both exactly the same. They do their own job/methodology and I hope they do it well. Offering an accurate alternative is my mission, to defend music that deserves its place in the charts because different stations make the effort to broadcast them. Stupid is the people who think that there is only one reality, only one perception of any statement. Open your mind and you'll see that life, people and music industry (in this case) are so much complex and rich than you think. The entire world is composed of many different people with many different ideas and the richness of it is our ability to expose, analyze, criticize and understand every point of view. :) Edited December 29, 201212 yr by djcharly
