Posted August 17, 200618 yr Source: NME.com The reformed Smashing Pumpkins have entered the studio. The band have announced on Smashingpumpkins.com that they are recording with The Darkness producer Roy Thomas Baker. Baker has also worked with Queen and The Cars. The album, which has no release date, will be the band's first studio effort since 2000's 'MACHINA/The Machines Of God'. The line-up of the reunited Pumpkins is still unclear, with only leader Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin having confirmed their involvement. I could have put this in either depending on which era but I decided to put them in here but anyway this excites me. :yahoo:
August 17, 200618 yr I liked the Smashing Pumpkins in the mid 1990s. My fav tracks of their's were Tonight, Tonight, Stand Inside Your Love, Disarm & 1979.
August 17, 200618 yr Well, I doubt they're gonna get Melissa Auf Der Maur or James Iha back, both are kinda doing their own things (Iha's in A Perfect Circle and Melissa has her solo career..), maybe D'arcy will make a return...? I'm not sure I really want to see Smashing Pumpkins return to be honest and I get the feeling that Billy Corgan's only doing this because his Post-Pumpkins projects (particularly the dreadful Zwan...) have been met with incredible indifference...
