Some slightly bad news. According to media traffic Rudebox has sold just under 380,000 copies in it's first week of release worldwide. So I have no idea where the near 1 million came from. Clearly he sold nowhere near the 600,000 which was pre-ordered in Germany

Here is the link - http://www.mediatraffic.de/albums.htm

This is well under half of what IC sold worlwide (it sold over 800,000 first week) -_-

But when you stop comparing it to IC and look on the bright side things are'nt that bad :D He has the second best selling album on the planet (almost the #1 best selling by only 3k) and has infact sold well over 100,000 more that what Christina's long awaited 3rd album sold and well over 100,000 more than Justin Tmberlake's album did outside the US.

Scotty - I think the 600,000 must be shipments in Germany, rather than actual sales ?

And I agree about the positives. I didn't expect this album to sell as well as IC - at least not initially. Hopefully it will have staying power though :)

You must be right ^_^

This is'nt a normal Robbie album though, and it's only been a year since IC so I think it has done very well considering

I don't agree with those figures worldwide. If Rudebox sold nearly 150.000 in the UK first week, I highly doubt he only sold 230,000 copies from Australia to Europe. It does not appear right. IMO

But I guess I cannot argue with what they say.

I thought that too. But I'm not exactly sure what Media Traffic counts. It is just certain countries, I know that. But I think it may also be actual sales rather than 'units shipped' which most other organisations such as the IFPI use.

I think it's too low whatever it counts. But again, what does Week 1 cover? Rudebox was released on the Friday/Sat in some countries and not till the Monday in others. What days are covered by Week 1?

Down to No8 in Ireland? I am not best pleased. :arrr:

After 10 days of release..

Thanks DDD - nice to see it climbing to #1 in some countries :)

I have just ventured onto Amazon for the frst time to read the reviews...preparing myself for the worst...but I was delighted to see that the majority of them were positive  . After the initial onslaught I think now at least 75 % of the reviews were very complimentary, rating it at least 4 or 5 stars :cheer: .

Well fingers crossed he hasn't lost out to that awful woman Amy Winehouse..or whatever her name is.

After 10 days of release..

And only by 3 bloody K. :arrr: Apperently media traffic don't have exact sales figures, only estimated of countries they don't know the definite sales for them and since Robbie is miles bigger than MCR outside the US then I think he should be #1 -_-
