But it's still doing so much better in Mainland Europe than in the UK/Ireland. <_<

The Official Site reports that all these taxis in Amsterdam now have Rudebox artwork painted on them (they have a photo. Very nice too  ).

So how come EMI in Europe are promoting the album big time and the British Isles gets hee-haw?

From http://music.monstersand critics.com

Robbie Williams withstands the sales of a new singles retrospective by Jamiroquai to begin a third week at the helm of European Top 100 Albums with 'Rudebox' (Chrysalis). Although Williams` set slides from 2 to 9 in the UK, it tops the German chart for a third week, debuts at No. 3 in Greece and jumps from 6 to 3 in Hungary.

'Rudebox' stays at No. 2 in Austria and the Belgian region of Wallony and at No. 3 in Italy. However, it is down from 1 to 2 in Switzerland, from 2 to 3 in Sweden, from 2 to 4 in Holland and from 3 to 4 in Flanders.

^_^

Oh, good to see it's still in top on Europe. Although it's true, how frustrating that he's doing better everywhere compared to the UK. <_< But I'm actually slightly pleased that it's still no. 9, didn't I read somewhere that it would fall out of the Top 10 this week...? Trying to see the positives here

Rob did well staying on top in Germany, there are 4 new releases in the Top 10.

Obviously the no. 9 on the UK chart was from last week, only realised now. Must have overread the

dropped from 2 to 9 bit, at first I was hoping it was still at no. 9 this week.

A nice article for once  :D

Robbie Williams' Rudebox out

The video doesn’t take any risks. It says the name of the song and the album so many times, one is unlikely to forget it in a hurry. But then, Rudebox is the result of Robbie Williams' 7th entry into the recording studio and it's doing rather well for itself.

It was certified platinum in the UK and most of Europe, selling more than half a million copies on the day of its release and it seems that trying to be different has paid off.

"I'm just more confident. When I left 'Take That' and started my solo career with some writing partnerships, there were changes which just ran and ran for around 5 albums. You get into a comfort zone - you know the person, you know what you’re gonna do and you're not scared to try things out. But as that's done its course, I'd no other option to go and explore. And this option has given me the confidence to go out and do that," quips Robbie.

But all the experimentation hasn't helped him break into the US market yet. This time, too, the response has been nothing more than lukewarm for the man who once sang for the band 'Take That'. His solo career has been going very smoothly since he left, and the success of his latest effort will surely add to the already well-firmed smooth operator image.

And though his dream of playing James Bond might remain unfulfilled, the money from a singing career seems pretty good for the moment.

    can't believe this is happening

Lets hope Lovelight is top 10 :(

You can say that again. When you think about it it's ridiculous. I could live with his singles not getting to no.1 anymore or even Top 5. But we really shouldn't have to worry about an RW single not making the Top 10.

(particularly when it is a really good song like Lovelight ) It's just wrong.
