It's nice to come back on here and read a positive review from popjustice and particularly the people's comments are quite encouraging

Good news from the Netherlands with thanks to purerobbie:

CD Robbie Williams already platinum

Rudebox, the new album of Robbie Williams is already platinum. 70.000 albums, that will be in stores friday, have been pre-ordered already. His record company EMI shared that news thursday.

Rudebox is the 7th album of the British singer. The single Rudebox was already high up in the charts. Robbie worked together with his heros, the Pet Shop Boys, Orbit and producer Mark Ronson

Wonder how many it has sold on pre-orders in the UK

Right here I am. The profit of UK doom.

It is up to No 3 on Amazon. Beaten by the Killers and Scissor Sisters.

No 3 is c**p for a Robbie album so close to its release date. Usually he's No 1 on Amazon a couple of weeks before.

I'm hoping everyone is so keen to have this album they have decided not to order on-line but to queue outside the shops on Monday. But I seriously doubt it. Amazon is usually a very good indicator of album sales in the country as a whole. ( Except for Westlife albums which are always bought by grannies doing their weekly shop at the Co-Op rather than bought on -line.)

Hmmmmm. Just need to wait and see. But I'm not convinced we're going to get mega-sales in the UK this time. The UK likes Dido remember. Bland Bland Bland. <_<

I just had it in my hands but I didn't buy it :o

Waiting for the special edition to arrive....maybe tomorrow

Well I just though. how on earth are people who dont visit internet forums, and don't go into the CD shop reguarly supposed to know the bloody album is out on Monday

I have seen no adds on TV & radio at all. Nearly EVERY artist who have a new album out has adds on all the time, so why not for Robbie :arrr: . EMI don't deserve to make a bloody penny

Oh-oh, that doesn't sound good.

Only no. 3 on amazon, no ads... I'm seriously dreading the first sales figures

Well I don't recall any adds for IC untill around Xmas time but he did tones of promo for that <_<

He would sell so much more if he had Simon Cowell behind him ;)

I still think it will sell over 300k first week though :smoke:

:o I admire your optimism, Scotty. I guess I'll be glad if he makes it to no. 1 somehow and I'm afraid the sales will be much lower compared to his usual first week standards

here is why I think it will sell over 300k ^_^

- When it comes to albums Robbie has an increadible fanbase that can be matched by very few.

- Those who were scared off by Rudebox will most likely buy it after hearing Lovelight.

- Loads of people who don't usually buy his albums will hopefully buy it, such as PSB fans etc.

Whether it will make #1 is not realy the question. I would bet my house on it making #1, but whether it will sell the usualy 300k+ first week is another <_<
