Why does it matter what the press say?

If you like the album isn't that enough?

Seems to me you're more a fan because of the sales than you are a fan of the man himself.

It's something he's obviously enjoyed, you can hear that. If he's not bothered about promoting it, why should you be?

Of course I like the album - Im not more of a fan of the sales than the artist - that is a stupid remark for you to make. Ive liked Rob for the last 16 yrs

Of course he has enjoyed making the album - and I have enjoyed listening to every minute of it and if you had bothered to read any of the previous posts I left about the album you would have read that!

I would like to see the album receive better promtion so a wider audience can appreciate what Im listening too - which is Rudebox - a great album.

and Im sure Rob wants it to to be heard by as wide an audience as possible too.

Dont make pissy remarks - its annoying and takes away from the real debate at hand!

I don't particulally care what the press say but the bad press he is getting is clearly affecting sales and that annoys me cause I love this album and think it deserved to sell so much more. -_-

It's obviously about the music and as a fan I want him to have success with an album as you say he loves and wants to do so well.

Not sure who you were refering to in that post btw

and what's the point in making an album and not bother to promote it - surely if its fantastic - the artist would want as many people as possible to hear it and appreciate it

Yes its about art and talent so why not allow that art and talent to be appreciated by as wide an audience as possible

Pls nobody return to me he only makes the album so it can sit on his bedroom shelf argument.....

Yeah Scotty that was a strange one - some peeps honestly - think they do be just looking to agitate!

I'm not looking to agitate anyone just giving my opinion.

But as I've now had a PM telling me to stop posting here, I'll keep future ones to myself

Your free to post what you want and make give whatever opinion you want and everyone else is free to agree or disagree with you....

I may have misinterpreted your comment so my apologies..

Dont be told you cant do something by anyone - this is the web world and so you are free to do or say what you want and everyone is free to agree or disagree with you!

Whoever is bullying peeps on here - dont!

Come on Guys. Shouldn't we be rejoicing in his 8th number 1 album :cheer: .

I was thrilled until I came on here

Just relax, enjoy this brilliant album, and be happy that he made it to number 1 with a controversial non-promoted album.

I am very proud of him  .

Robbie Williams has gone straight to the top of the album charts with his latest album Rudebox.

Former chart-toppers Killers slipped from number one to number five, with new entries from My Chemical Romance, Meat Loaf and Rod Stewart.

McFly topped the singles chart with Star Girl, closely followed by Fedde le Grande's Put Your Hands Up For Detroit.

Last week's number one My Chemical Romance's Welcome To The Black Parade, dropped to four, behind Girls Aloud.

TOP FIVE UK SINGLES

1. McFly - Star Girl

2. Fedde le Grand - Put Up Your Hands For Detroit

3. Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh

4. My Chemical Romance - Welcome to The Black Parade

5. Beyonce - Irreplaceable

It is the eighth chart-topping album for the former Take That star, who is currently on tour in South America.

Last month Williams, 32, called off the Asian leg of his world tour in November, citing stress and exhaustion.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is back at the top of the charts today after new album Rudebox went straight in at No1, despite mixed reviews. Robbie, at home in Los Angeles taking a rest, will round off his world tour in Australia next month.

Aagh bless her. She really has been on her best behaviour. It's nice having her back on our side  .

I wouldn't have thought it, but another good one there from Vicky. Because unlike others she doesn't compare the current sales to previous albums - at least for now ;)

I don't mean to stir things any further, but I'm not happy thinking anyone on this forum is being told not to post anymore, unless some person deserved it for eg. being really rude or offensive, but I couldn't really see that happening

Us RW fans should stick together and show our support for the man like one big happy family.

Sorry for getting a bit soppy there

Just found this on purerobbie: :cheer:

Robbie Williams is back at number one after his latest album rocketed straight to the top of the charts.

The singer's new LP 'Rudebox' has marked a change in style for the former Take That star, but his sales are still strong and he comfortably claimed the number one position.Emo rockers My Chemical Romance entered at number two with their latest record 'The Black Parade', while Meat Loaf debuted at number three with the third installment in his 'Bat Out Of Hell' series.

Rod Stewart completed a quartet of new entries at the top of the chart with 'Still The Same' ahead of last week's number one - Sam's Town by The Killers - at number five.

Soul star John Legend had a new entry at number 10 with 'Once Again' while The Ordinary Boys came in at number 15 with 'How To Get Everything You Ever Wanted in Ten Easy Steps'.
