I can't see any very obvious playlist possibilities for this week, maybe Showtek, Kooks, Horrors or Birdy? - They played Chainsmokers - Selfie today, so they could playlist that.

I'm HOPING they give The Saturdays a late play-listing. :(

They have a LOT to get rid of now though, Disclosure, Bastille, Chvrches, London Grammar, Arctic Monkeys, One Direction... I'm sure they've long-peaked and the impact date has passed for most of these? David Guetta has long out-stayed his welcome, too.

I can't see any obvious additions either, but Showtek and Birdy are definitely contenders, and maybe early additions for Joel Compass and Kooks. I think they'll probably add the Saturdays today too. And maybe Calvin Harris?

Agreed that they'll probably get rid of all the ones mentioned above, they've all DEFINITELY outstayed their welcome!

- Birdy - Words As Weapons

- Catfish & The Bottlemen - Kathleen

- DJ Snake & Lil Jon - Turn Down For What

- Dominique Young Unique - Throw It Down

- Meridian Dan (ft. Big H & JME) - German Whip

- Showtek & Justin Prime (ft. Matthew Koma) - Cannonball (Earthquake)

- Skrillex - Recess

- Sub Focus (ft. MNEK) - Close

- The Chainsmokers - Selfie

- The Saturdays - Not Giving Up

- Tove Lo / Hippie Sabotage - Stay High

just some of the possibilities i'd think

but i REALLY hope that SOHN's "Artifice" gets a spot on the playlist somehow. They've played it a fair bit recently, plus it's a great song so i don't see why not?

Completely forgot it was wednesday already because of the Bank Holiday!!

Hope todays Record of the Day by Joel Compass is added & Skrillex!!

*fingers crossed for the Sats*

I think it might be a week too early for Calling All Hearts, but you never know. I guess it depends on whether they do the much needed clear-out.

Some of this weeks Record of the Days from radio 1 that could be playlisted --

Today Sam Smith Stay With Me

25/3/14 The Black Keys Fever

24/3/14 Cash Cash Take me Home ft Bebe Rex

23/3/14 5 Seconds of Summer

22/4/13 Pharrell Williams Marilyn Monroe

My prediction is 5 Seconds of Summer 90% certain.

Maybe Dominique Young Unique – Throw It Down

And it'll be interesting to see if they've replaced their Saturdays girlband quota with Neon Jungle, by playlisting them.

Maybe Neon Jungle have taken the Saturday place on the playlist and we have moved on the girlband generations lol. Not much room on the radio 1 playlist for loads of boy/girlband because thankfully they dont just play commercial fodder :P
It'll be interesting to see if they do start playlisting Neon Jungle now, but I think it'd possibly be a week early to start looking out for that.

I've got a feeling they wanted to playlist them after the moderate success of Braveheart, and 3 girlbands on the playlist was too much for R1, which is why they may have dropped The Saturdays.

Where are you getting those dates from? Cash Cash was Track of the Day yesterday (25th) and I'm pretty certain it was Pharrell the day before that (24th) - do you just make up random dates?!

Anyway I think these are in with a chance of getting on the playlist today:

Cash Cash feat. Bebe Rexha - Take Me Home

DJ Cassidy feat. Robin Thicke & Jessie J - Calling All Hearts (still not sure whether they'll actually playlist this but if they do then this would probably be the week)

Dominique Young Unique - Throw It Down

The Kooks - Down

Neon Jungle - Welcome To The Jungle (hoping they jump on board with them now cos this isn't a bad track)

Showtek & Justin Prime feat. Matthew Koma - Cannonball (Earthquake)

Sub Focus feat. MNEK - Close

5 Seconds of Summer - She Looks So Perfect (looking certain for #1 now and they did have it as Track of the Day so presumably they'll add it now)

The Sam Smith track isn't out until May 18th so it's way too early yet for it to be playlisted. They'll playlist Pharrell too but I don't know what its impact date is?

I think they might add Gaga - GUY, too?

Impact date is May 12th so probably a couple of weeks too early yet I'd say.

other than the final one for Pharrell which i mistyped I just got the other dates mixed up but the records are correct which was the main point of the post. Is there any need to be so pernickity and rude with your replies  ?

Anyway I hope they playlist the Kooks new track, love it right now!

Ooh great...must have missed that. Best song so far this year for me...
