Problem is would it sell though , got great critical acclaim from those in the know last time but the fans hated it . I liked it as well but if he came out wearing that Troup gear at the same time as the album he would be slated by the press ... I have nightmares thinking about it ...

I don't think that there will be a Rudebox 2 yet. At one point of time, when he will not need to sell huge tours anymore od through his fansite maybe.

But I think that this album will nevertheless not be going the sure way like Adele did it.

I have the feeling that it will be very special and different

 

To my thinking it doesn't matter if he releases Rudebox 2.

 

Is it a disaster if only a few buy it? It's not going to ruin his career. He's done everything anyway so he might as well experiment. Although he's good at reinventing himself anyway but something radical/left of field would be great.

 

I think he's confident enough -more so than at any time post 2009 so I think you're right Elisabeth - the next album will be extra special. I can feel it in my water. :lol:

 

Whether it sells in large numbers or small remains to be seen. :)

 

I don't want middle of the road Robbie. For me - It's not where he belongs.

I agree Laura. As much as I want him to sell lots of copies, I rather want a special album.

This is what I liked about the last TT effort (despite it was not my taste). They did not take the obvious roots like Adele. This asks for a lot of guts.

I would wish that Robbie would get a lot of critical acclaim for his album as this is what he is sure more interested in than sales. And a sell out tour for he has to live :-)

There is an article in the SUN today that Ayda could be a permanent member of LW.

Hopefully more TV companies will notice her and snap her up for something.

 

She will fit in so well on UK TV. LA glamourous enough to be noticed but down to earth enough to be identifiable with Joe Public. B-)

For me the thing I liked most was the quality of the lyrics and there were so many of them on that album. It was overflowing with brilliantly insightful, witty, barbed lyrics and stories. You learnt so much about him in that album.

 

The fact that it was so bonkers was just the cherry on the cake.

 

That feels like the natural RW to me. He is a naturally eccentric man and he should let that out in his music more I think. Who cares if no one "gets" it? :wub:

Ayda is good fun & lighthearted & that works well with tv audiences ...
