Posted March 5, 201312 yr A woman attacked two people, killing a 58 year-old solicitor by almost beheading her, after repeatedly ringing 999 and telling police she was going to harm someone again. She'd killed her mother previously. Fatally stabbed her mother to death in 2005 Was released back into the community in 2009, after being incarcerated for little over 3 years at her trial in 2006 Was under supervision until September 2011, when mental health experts said she showed no signs of mental illness Within two weeks she was pleading to be sectioned again, made 5 999 calls in one afternoon from a mental health unit making threats to kill When her threats were not taken seriously, she went out and attacked 2 women on the street
March 5, 201312 yr Author I don't think the four years that she was held for her mother's manslaughter was long enough at all. The family of the dead solicitor are imo justifiably angry about all this. No police officer bothered to check the PNC or they'd have seen that she'd killed before. She should have been immediately sectioned. Edited March 5, 201312 yr by Common Sense
March 5, 201312 yr Her claims should have been taken seriously, it's ridiculous how appalling some health services are in regards of helping other people. Going through a period where voices were in my head myself, I know how hard it is to ignore those urges and someone should have come and kept her under control immediately after she called the police.

Agreed. The cops should have at least spoke to someone in the mental health unit where she apparently made the calls from and she should have been immediately sectioned as a danger to others.
