Agreed! Although I enjoy What Makes You Beautiful (not that I'd choose to play it) and also Stole My Heart from the first album is a little gem. But that's it. Nothing comes close to the best by the Wanted.

No. She's huge in Europe and Australasia. She did five dates in South Africa on her last tour and nine in Asia, so clearly not unknown there. And she's toured North America twice in three years, where her last album also entered the top 20. Your statement is wrong.

I adore Kylie but she doesn't deserve Madonna's success, nobody else does besides Madonna. Nobody else has had the cultural impact Madonna has.

I didn't say she was unknown outside of the UK, I'm from Lebanon an her songs get played on the radio here all the time...I'm just saying she isn't known in the US therefore the international media doesn't recognize her success as they do with successful US artists like Britney , Pink and Katy perry...

She deserves more US success than what she had already...

Yeah i agree too. The Wanted have yet to put a foot wrong in terms of their singles (ok, i'm being kind to I Found You), but i only really enjoy WMYB and Kiss You from 1D compared to EVERY single from The Wanted.

(i also find their appearences to be greatly overrated, and again The Wanted >>>>)

She IS known in the US though. And I'd say she gets just as much recognition as those other artists.

+1. Actually +infinity!

Fair enough that you don't like Kate Bush, but you can't claim the likes of Cilla Black are anywhere near her whole package!

First time, No doubt, that Cilla Black is a legend.

Kate Bush is ONLY freak (watch Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich) and VERY unlistenable singer (watch Bjork) and she is NOTHING as singer-songwriter in compare with... for simple LYNSEY DE PAUL.

Of course, I'm not the center of Music Universe, as YOU or ANTHONY or another fan of Bjork / Kate Bush.

Don't judge me very strict, I'm only like pop music. :)

Kylie has been streets ahead of Madonna in the past 5-7 years. Hard candy and mdna are poo. Aphrodite and abbey road sessions were amazing and deserved to sell much more than they actually did. Kylie is also an amazing performer. I wonder how many of today's artists will still be around in 25 years time?

For me, both Rihanna and One Direction are highly overrated. Rihanna has done some good tracks but that's the thing - she seems to pick the right songs off her albums cos half of the tracks are very dull.

One Direction don't have great voices. They are in the media all the time and have yet to release a song that I actually like. They are made out to be massive but haven't had a million selling album yet and only onebiggish single.

Much as I adore Kylie, I don't think she has, or ever will, surpass Madonna.

Just because Madonna has struggled with MDNA and Kylie did pretty well with Aphrodite doesn't mean Kylie has surpassed her... Rita Ora's album sold more than Kate Bush's last one and that doesn't mean Rita Ora is suddenly bigger and better :drama:

Definitely all of this. So so much. The Wanted have it perfectly right while most of 1D's stuff is just awful teeny-pop.

The point I was making is that Kylie musically has been miles ahead of Madonna in the past 5 years at least. Madonna seems to have completely lost it and not sure she will ever recover. Also, Kylie doesnt get the recognition that she deserves compared to Madonna.

That's because you can't compare them in any shape or form.

Alot of Madonna's recent output has been just as good if not better than Kylie's. Gang Bang from MDNA is mile better than almost all of Aphrodite.

Both are female pop stars who have bene around since the 80's and still have a large fanbase and success, there is alot to compare.

There is no doubt Kylie is a successful popstar, but there is no way she can compare to the innovation and sheer pop domination of Madonna, not to say Kylie hasn't done amazingly well and better than most of my favourite artists even but she will never come close to Madonna, just because Madonna is flopping now in comparison to her previous eras doesn't mean Kylie is suddenly above her.

Precisely.

And anyway, Madonna could fart uncontrollably for the entirety of her next album and it still wouldn't take away from what she's managed over her career. She's a lot of things, but overrated she most definitely ISN'T

Not in terms of what they achieved or influenced. You can compare anything if you want to but its heavily weighted in Madonna's favour. Different leagues.

One Direction, Rihanna, Kanye West, Beyoncé, Jay Z are all over hyped for my liking.

I totally agree. I like both of them but you can't compare Hard Candy to X or MDNA to Aphrodite!
